A Signor switch?
Marv Cermak

Joe Signor, a high-profile Rotterdam Republican for many years, apparently is seriously thinking about jumping ship onto the Democrat Party deck.
Through the years, he served on the Town Board as supervisor and most recently as councilman.
Some of Signor's past GOP allies said he told them he's weighing the switch. A town Democrat leader said Signor has purchased an advertisement in the party's upcoming newsletter.
I called Signore several times in the last two weeks, but he did not return the calls, so go figure.
Republicans doing a makeover is nothing new in political topsy-turvy Rotterdam. Previous GOP'ers Angelo Santa Barbara and Judy Dagostino did the Democratic "flip flop hop'' in the past.
And the latest in rough and tumble town politics has outgoing town Councilwoman Nicki DiLeva running for a County Legislature seat in the fall. She is an interesting political study.
She started out as a GOP county legislator. She switched to the Conservative Party. Later, Democrats cross-endorsed her for her current Town Board seat. Now, Republicans apparently are prepared to welcome her back for the Conservative's latest bid.

G'bye! Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!!

Out with the old and in with the new and improved rep party.

I'm sure this will split the dems even more if JS is welcomed into the dem whore party.
So while the dems are 'splitting' the reps are uniting!! Bout time!

reps are uniting? If there is unification its only because there is only 1 rep left and there is no one he can disagree with lol

I wonder if Steve Tommasone will be next. I guess it's going to depend on who is picked to run for the board / supervisor seats this November.

GP split the rep party just like TJ is splitting the dem party. Signor won't be welcomed or trusted by all the dems, just like ang wasn't and still isn't.

I think you'd see GP defect before ST.

I think the real issue is that at this point, they have the name recognition, and it doesn't matter what party line they're running on, as long as they get to run.  The way things are going, I would expect George Amedore to be the next one to swap parties.  Besides complaning and not doing anything about Thruway tolls, he seems to be for bigger government as much as Angelo.

Then he should flip out now. As far as JS, will believe it when I see it. Spoke to him recently and he said nothing about this. A lot of people are considering moves. Big deal?

The deck is cleared for Brian McGarry-no primary and a clear shot for Supervisor. HB is a proven vote getter-for Sheriff when he had token opponents. After the current all DEM mess voters are looking for new candidates not DEM recycles/flippers. There is plenty of ammo for Tracy to use.

This is totally false.  I heard he was disgusted with Parisi and considered going to the Ind party NOT Dem, but now will be part of rebuilding the committee by taking out Parisi fake-committee people.  As soon as he retires he'll be running for county leg and will get my vote FOR SURE!!!!

The 'new and improved' rep party is leaving the 'crap' behind and moving their party forward with clean candidates. It is appearing to look less and less like the 'good old boys club'. It appears 'fresh and new'!! The entire county slate is a refreshing breath of fresh air that is ready to work 'for the people'!!! They all come with new and improved ideas and a strong desire to serve.

The dems will be hard pressed after the rotterdam fiasco and the overburdened taxpayers and tax giveaways in the city.  The dems have nothing to campaign on except their 'past' which has failed miserably.

Signor went Dem. For sure.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
