During this past winter’s snowstorms, our lawn was torn up accidently by the snowplows. The pieces of sod were so large, I would have needed a front-end loader to move them. So on March 18, I stopped at the town of Rotterdam Highway Department offices to ask their help in cleaning up. I didn’t get the name of the gentleman I spoke with, but he assured me they would take care of my problem. Sure enough, when I returned home that afternoon, the town workers had cleaned up the mess. I have lived in this town for the past 60 years and know we have had our share of oddballs running things. But the town Highway Department is on the ball.
