I was born in the 80's but I still love the music from the 50's, growing up that is all my father would listen to so it rubbed off on me

Allthough I was born in 59 remember alot of whats on the video. The movies, tv shows and the candy. Pretty much the same when I was very young.

My hubby born in 43 had a red 57 chevy, he has a large elvis collection.

I remember 1st grade at St. Columbus school, actually had a nun who really didn't like me, always had my seat by her desk. But the nun my brother had was a sweetheart, she knew something was wrong with the way I was being treated, heck I was only 5 years old in 1st grade, I remember she called me to her class and gave me a nun doll, I treasured it.

I remember going to the drive in with my parents and brother and seeing night of the living dead and couldn't sleep for a week : )

One day watching TV while my Mom and her friend having coffee in the kitchen, this is my first memory from TV, I saw when President Kennedy was shot, and even so young remember running into the kitchen crying and yelling to my mom to come and see what happened on TV.

And when there was a fight at school, it was one on one, no weapons. And if you got caught by a teacher or the principal you were scared to death.

Boy have times changed.

I'm so old, I remember when Christ was just an apprentice carpenter!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

I remember Little Super. And I'm glad to hear that it re-opened. That area needs a small convenient type store.

I remember all of it.

I look back and think it was a better life. But I was just a kid and life was fun and exciting then. It was our parents who were struggling with issues that we are dealing with today as adults. I remember getting our first color tv and air conditioner. And yes I also remember exchanging our wringer washer for and automatic one. I remember riding bikes to Little Super in the summer for an ice cream sandwich. School dances, the latest music, learning to drive and new hair styles. It was soo uncomplicated.

Today it is, paying bills, raising children, taxes, wars and natural disasters. Yes, life was simple as a kid. It's growing up that made things complicated and challenging.

It's struggling right now - Hess and Stewart's are within easy walking distance.  In fact, it was Stewart's coming in that really dealt the blow to little super - "back in the day".
