That green house on Altamont ave is a flipper. They bought it for 32,000 a year and a half ago and now want 60k+

What a dump. They should be forced to tear it down considering the hazard it is and part of it even SITS ON TOWN LAND! I have a friend who looked to buying it (2 years ago)and renovating it but it was built many years ago overlapping the town right of way on the side street, and she decided not to buy it because of the legal hassle.

Speaking of Greenpoint--Cut through there to get from Altamont to the thruway. What was going on there lst night?  Three cop cars and a lot of other cars...I could barely get down the street.

Rotterdam is starting to cost, sound and look just like the city.

Rotterdamains should be calling their town hall daily until this is resolved.

I saw the same thing in Coldbrook in the middle of the day about a week ago on Outer Drive. Three cop cars, all the police slowly approaching the place as if Manson was inside. Their cars were in the middle of the street too. I think the mandatory reaction now is to react as if it is the Symbonese Liberation Army when someone phones the police. If you get pulled over for a stop sign violation I think it is similar, guns drawn, police on both sides of the car, etc. There is a lot of fear that police could be killed by the depraved psychos that are everywhere. I can't entirely blame them but I think the amount of over reaction is sometimes outside the realm of common sense. Domestic disputes are the absolute worst and nobody wants to walk up to a house where a couple if fighting because these days you just don't know. One officer told me once he made such an arrest of a guy beating a woman to a pulp, and as soon as he cuffed the guy, the woman (victim) attacked the cop from behind biting him so hard it broke his knuckles. That is called gratitude I guess.

Anyways, as to the green house. Who wants to lay odds that in 2 years it looks the same as it is today?

Oh you bet, Senders. Sopranos would be the bookie on that one to take the action too. You should have seen the scabs that were looking at buying it a few days ago too. One guy is a familiar slumlord about town that looks like "Tales from the Crypt" and his sidekick looked like a real thug. They had visions of putting section 8 in there for sure because that is the only "vision" this town seems to have. No one told them not to crap where they eat, but they have been drinking the septic water for so long it is inevitable. Well, I guess they can't see it from their back yard.

i see the front porch has come off the property on broadway and now there is a great view of the second floor interioir

GO OUT FOR BIDS and NOTIFY THE OWNER OF THE COST OF REMOVAL

this building should be gone in 30 days

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS

I agree 1000%. How long is this particular house going to stay in the condition it is in? I've always wondered why code enforcement lets things like this go for so long.. Who would one direct a letter to regarding this?
