Republican Voice of Reason

I feel I owe you all an explanation. I have been a loyal Democrat for most of my adult life. I have always believed in the principles of the Democratic Party. Unfortunately, due no fault of the principles of the Party, the Rotterdam Democratic Committee, and Democrats in Rotterdam in general, have become the epitome of dysfunction. I cannot stand by as my Town and my Party are desecrated for the benefit of certain individuals. Sadly, I am unable to change the Democratic Party—so at this critical juncture, I feel I have no choice but to run for office as a Republican, if they will have me. I cannot in good conscious allow this Town to suffer the same fate as the Democratic Committee. I will now be blogging under the name Republican Voice of Reason--I still view myself as a Democrat, however I believe it unfair for me to expect the Republicans to support me if I do not at least attempt to assimilate.

With this, I am going to reenter my removal from the forums until Lent is over. I will use this time to deeply consider what I can do to better this town, and ask for god’s guidance in my future. I wish you all a very happy and holy lent season and to my friends of the Jewish Faith, have a holy Passover.

Wow, what about us natering naybobs of negativity (as you so originally put it?)

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

As time goes on you will see my intentions as crystal clear as my love for St Adalbert's Fall Festa.

I think it the Dzozinci Festival or something. I am not sure they call it a Festa, Ron. However you cook better Italian food at home with your psychic projections so there is no need to get Italian food out. Except when it is free at Lame-mozzis.

Now he wants an endorsement from the brilliant nattering naybobs of negativity? ROTFLMAO!! You better grease the right wheels. Gadfly is right-this is hysterical. Guess if he can steal quotes from Spiro Agnew and support Chris Gibson this is his next step. Smoking DVR and FDG--REPS for County Leg! Don't call it a comeback-part deux.

Again.......who cares?

However......anyone can switch to any party they want to. It seems to be the 'in thing' these days. And just look how good that's worked out for the flip floppers??? They can never be elected out of schenectady county. The best they can hope for are appointed positions. And that's after they are embarrassed and fail miserably!!

Of course we know it's not DV, he couldn't be so clever and creative

True, however the effective date of change of party isn't until after the election.  But obviously parties can "cross endorse" but I couldn't comprehend the reps endorsing an unemployed candidate who is not even a responsible independent adult

Agree. And if DVR is a staunch catholic as s/he claims, s/he wouldn't have posted today, DURING LENT!!

Don't worry DVR, we may not agree on many many things here, but we got yer back on this one!

Catholics are not prohibited from being online or posting during Lent.

As to the title of the thread  "Severson a Republican" -- I have not switched parties nor do I intend to switch parties.   I have not approached with the GOP to run for anything  -- although the GOP did approach me 27 years ago to run for a political office ... and I have never met  Ms. Donovan - at least that I know of.
