GLENVILLE
Anti-abortion effort to start Wednesday, last through Lent
BY DAVID LOMBARDO Gazette Reporter

In anticipation of the local 40 Days for Life campaign dozens of anti-abortion supporters gathered at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall in Glenville on Saturday night for a kickoff rally.
The event detailed the tenets of the 40 Days for Life campaign, which begins Wednesday and goes until April 17, with a constant prayer vigil taking place outside the Planned Parenthood office in Schenectady. This is part of a national effort that began in 2004 and is purported to include presences at 240 locations, as people pray and fast with the goal of bringing an end to abortion.
“Its one of the most innovative and effective ideas to come out of the pro-life movement in a long time,” said Father Peter West, the associate director of Priests for Life and the keynote speaker Saturday. He cited the conversion of Abby Johnson, a former director of a Planned Parenthood facility who became an anti-abortion activist, and he mocked the notion that Planned Parenthood facilities serve as clinics. He characterized them as “abortion mills.” ..........................>>>>..............>>>>..............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01401&AppName=1

So if a pregnancy to full term brings a hindu child into the world then they are not brothers/sisters in Christ and it really doesn't matter what they do even
if they wanted an abortion....
only christians celebrate lent as it is....so they can only enforce their 'law' on their own brothers/sisters.......it doesn't matter what others do outside
their 'family'.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Bravo to Father West! Finally some pro-life leadership.

Here's a poll that Box conveniently forget to report. "On the issue of abortion, would you say you are more pro-life and more pro-choice?"

     1/18/11-   Pro Life 50%   Pro Choice 42%  Both 5%  Unsure 3%     Highest pro-life support in 4 Years!

What poll is that Benny?  You didn't give a link or a source.

Are you referring to the older Gallup poll?
May 15, 2009
Where the majority polled said they were "pro life"...

Yet the same poll overwhelmingly polled to keep abortion legal:

Gallup
http://www.gallup.com/poll/118399/more-americans-pro-life-than-pro-choice-first-time.aspx

Many people consider themselves personally Pro Life, yet they are Pro Choice when it comes to the laws of the land.

No the 1/18/11 poll from Fox/Opinion Dynamics. Depending on the wording you can find a poll that supports either side. The highest pro-life figure in years.

As I posted, when you ask many Americans who want abortion to be legal if they are Pro Life, they will respond "YES", because they personally wouldn't get an abortion.  Yet these same people often respond that they want abortion to remain legal and safe in the United States.

When asked do you want to make abortion illegal, most say NO!

The people picketing Planned Parenthood (weather permitting, and Lawrence Welk isn't on) in Schenectady, have no idea of how much damage they're doing.
The people that want to defund them, are abject morons.

Yes, they probably do abortions, but they also provide birth control to those that can't afford it.
I don't have a problem with birth control, because it negates even the need for abortion.

They also do pap smears, and if you actually think that  God likes, CANCER, you probably didn't  get enough oxygen at birth, and should be wearing a hockey helmet just to go to the supermarket.

Now let me get this straight.
You're against abortion, yet preventing pregnancy is a problem?
You severely lack any sense of critical reasoning.

You're against supporting any more welfare babies?
By all means, let's make women not seek birth control.

George Bush once said, " what's the problem? you just have to go to the emergency room".
Yeah, that works.
Instead of preventative medicine, that costs less than your lunch, let's all make sure that they go to the emergency room, where it will cost thousands, on OUR dime.

Every single time that I see those  bored elderly imbeciles picketing in front of Planned Parenthood on  State Street, I can barely resist, driving up on the sidewalk, while screaming "HEY YOU GULLABLE ASSH*LES!
Wanna see the "Death panels?"
THEY ARE YOU.
But they're worse than that, in the fact that they're willing to inflict suffering to others, based on their particular religious beliefs.
I personally, would never stone my own daughter to death, because she was brutally raped, and brought dishonor upon my family, but hey, I guess to  each convoluted religion to his own

Ya know what? Line up.
This is a pretty big truck, and I'm fully willing to lessen the financial burden on taxpayers that are  paying for your social security "entitlement".

Get a damned hobby or something.
Perhaps you can find do something other than listening to AM talk radio, or watching the very very blasphemous "700 Club".

Very little of what PP does is abortion services.  PP prevents  unwanted pregnancies with sex education and birth control, as well as STD and gyno services.

As PP Closes, the number of unwanted pregnancies will increase and abortions will continue.

Actually --- Catholics believe that ALL people are brothers and sisters in Christ .. whether they are Catholics or not.  We pray for and anticipate with great hope the day when all God's children will be gathered together around God's throne.

Just one more hateful intrusion into a private matter...

Nebraska’s new abortion law forced Danielle Deaver to live through ten excruciating days, waiting to give birth to a baby that she and her doctors knew would die minutes later, fighting for breath that would not come. And that’s what happened. The one-pound, ten-ounce girl, Elizabeth, was born December 8th.
Deaver and husband Robb watched, held and comforted the baby as it gasped for air, hoping she was not suffering. She died 15 minutes later.

The sponsor of the controversial Nebraska statute, Sen. Mike Flood of Norfolk, said that the law worked as it was intended in the Deavers’ case. "Even in these situations where the baby has a terminal condition or there's not much chance of surviving outside of the womb, my point has been and remains that is still a life."

Had this been Senator Flood's wife or daughter he might have felt differently, but since it's just a political issue... it was good for a few votes.

just because someone doesn't want to watch someone die NATURALLY, because it would have happened regardless doesn't make a point for
abortion....however, if they had made the CHOICE  to abort go ahead, I'm not going to stop you.....and it's not the 'Task Master Senator' choice....
