Does anyone have the phone number to that new taxi cab company that is in Schenectady.  Been waiting 1:15 for a central one and probably I will get an answer here before they ever get here.

Gosh I don't use taxi's much but every time I have called for one it has been a nightmare.

I have had it where I came in on the train.  By the time I got downstairs the two that taxi's that ususally hang out there were gone.  I call one of the companies can't remember which one and the person kept hanging up before I could say anything.  45 minutes later I finally go through.

Another time I called a three hours before I needed it had to be to Ellis for a angiogram.  They said no.  There was a snow storm on it's way and none were driving.  Not a flake to be seen in fact no snow on the ground anywhere. The distance of the ride all of 2 miles.

Needless to say I hopped in my car 15 minutes before having to be to hospital.  As things progresses I never got home that day.  They kept me and the next day did open heart surgery..  My car sat in the Ellis garage for days since there complications I was unconcious for 3 days.  Finally when I was sort of with it.  Friends came in and got my car home for me.  I ended up with a 11 day stay due to complications

Other times I have called only to be told we are really busy taking everyone to work or picking them up. Have no idea when we will get to you.

Bottom line taxi service in this city sucks.

Thanks MT. I didn't have a phone book etc. etc.   Capitol beat ja by about 3 or 4 minutes   I had called them out of frustration after 1:15 waiting for Central then wait for Central continued.  In that time Capital was  here in about 25.  I find that acceptable.  Bet I would still be waiting.

Central left a lot to be desired today but I called them back anyway to cancel.

Yellow cab when I finally did call information and got their number...they had a 45 minute wait and was kind enough to say 1st of the month said everyone got their checks. So I decided against that.

What steams me the most is Central on the first call I asked about how long.....20-25 minutes. So there I stand downstairs in the doorway waiting.  Can't see the street from my apartment upstairs. Central knew all along they weren't gonna be here in that time.  Grrrr

A neighbor's son takes cabs a little more than infrequently, but not frequently and he says the worst is living outside of the city, just over the line and they all jack up the price big time.  But he swore by Altamont Ave as the best, but he says they've gotten quite popular as a smaller company and now they have longer waits.

Yup, I heard that as soon as they cross the city lines the cab fare jumps!
