Ranks of unemployed get larger in 31 states, including New York

The number of unemployed workers rose in 31 of the 50 states last year, according to annual averages released Friday morning by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
California posted the largest increase, with 197,000 more unemployed people in 2010 than in 2009. Michigan registered the biggest reversal, paring its unemployment rolls by 51,000 last year.

New York was in the majority, increasing its number of unemployed workers by 11,000 in 2010. factor in the folks who are unaccounted due to ending benefits or just getting on.....
