SCHENECTADY
Legislator won’t seek to keep seat

BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA Gazette Reporter

Schenectady County Legislator Vincent DiCerbo, D-Schenectady, announced Thursday that he will not seek re-election to a fourth term.
DiCerbo, 57, said the time is right to let someone else run for offi ce.
“I wanted to be there to effect some positive changes. I have been there 12 years and have been though a lot, and now it’s time to step aside and let others bring a fresh perspective to the community,” he said.
DiCerbo, an analyst with the state comptroller’s office, has spent a total of 17 years in politics. He was a member of the Schenectady City Council from 1983 to 1988, leaving the council in the second year of his second term after his daughter was born. He was fi rst elected to the county Legislature in 1999 and was re-elected twice thereafter.
“I always wanted to be on the county Legislature. I always thought the county Legislature had more of an impact on the lives of residents. Also, at that time Metroplex [Development Authority] was just forming and I felt it would help with economic development, and I wanted to be there,” DiCerbo said.
Schenectady County Democratic Committee Chairman Brian Quail said several Democrats have expressed an interest in running for the seat, which represents District 1. District 1 consists of the northern part of the city of Schenectady. He said the county Democratic committee will begin interviewing candidates in March. .......................>>>>.....................>>>>.....................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01101&AppName=1

A decent fellow who finally had enough of carrying Landslide's Savage's water. When the bucket's leaky your backside gets wet. He realized that PG would destroy him in November and wisely ducked out.

He goes a growing list of DEM City fossils that are abandoning ship. The DEMS will find a sacrificial lamb for this seat.

Don't worry, by the time we commoners hear of such change, the line of succession has been set.

Who cares about DEM hack handpicked successors? This will not be a good year for anyone connected to Landslide Savage/Death Ray.

The DEM rhetoric is as stale as last weeks Pereca's bread. More DEMS busy making exit plans. Here's your hat-what's your hurry?
