Darren Lawrence stands to be latest Schenectady cop ousted

SCHENECTADY -- The fate of a Schenectady police officer is now in the hands of Mayor Brian U. Stratton after a recommendation to fire the troubled cop with a decade on the force, according to people with knowledge of the situation.

This week, Jeffrey Selchick, a hearing officer who presided over Darren Lawrence's second disciplinary hearing, recommended the city terminate him, said the people, who did not want to be identified because they were not authorized to disclose the findings.
