Contrary to the lies told by DV's plexy buddies in that stupid press release, here it is.  It's as plain as day!!!!    

BOMBER'S AINT PAYING A PILOT!!!!!   Got that!!!!!    Here's why:

First go back at post a while back on Schenectady taxes, I don’t know if I copied and pasted or if I did a link from the Schenectady Informer site, but I found it on there, these are the “tax rates per thousand” that affect the people in the city of Schenectady:

City                       $13.09
County                       6.66
Election charge               .21
School                      20.91
That tallies to $40.87 per thousand.

Now, look at the records.  Bombers is assessed for $531,000.    But they have a property tax exemption in the amount of $774,500.     Yes, not only intelligent people, but also idiots would ask, how can a property tax exemption amount exceed the assessed value.

If Bombers was paying the full property tax, the total (all four taxes listed above) would total $21,702    ($531,000 divided by 1,000 = 531.   Then $531 x 40.87 = 21,702)

Now look at the difference between the exemption value and the assessment value:    $774,500 - $531,000 = $243,500.    

The value of that "extra" exemption is $ 9,972      ($243,500 divided by 1,000 = $244.   Then $244 x $40,87 = $ 9,972)

Metroplex's so called press release proudly proclaims that Bombers pays a so called PILOT of $8,407

Essentially what is happening is that Bombers full property assessment is exempt from taxes.  Then they receive, in a manner of speaking, a check from the taxpayers (forcibly stolen from the financially struggling taxpayers) in the amount of $9,972.  

So out of this welfare check sent to Bombers, Bombers uses the handout to pay it's PILOT.  

Then it still has $1,565 left.....my understanding is that "tax" exemptions apply to "taxes" but not to fees.  I believe my understanding is correct, but Pat Z can certainly confirm that.  So, Bombers is still on the hook for water and sewer fees, which they can be paid out of that $1,500 balance.  Commercial property owners do not have city trash collection, therefore, while I'm guessing that the water and sewer fees don't total $1,565, there is probably still money left over with which to pay their trash fees to a private trash company.  

So DV's dem cronies have fixed it so that it looks like Bombers pays a PILOT, but in reality, this LOL (lack of leadership) team with this SOS Mayor (Son of Sam aka Symbol of Socialism) in effect have given Bombers a tax exemption that FAR EXCEEDS their property value so the excess can be used to fund their PILOT.

Taxes are not "forcibly stolen" from anyone   ...  stolen implies that it was illegally taken .. the tax that goes to fund Metroplex was  LEGALLY approved by the state legislature and the county legislature ----- and .. oh yeah .. Hugh Farley says he was responsible for setting up Metroplex  but you don't see the a-holes like MC talking about that.    

Metroplex has done a great job in Downtown Schenectady under Ray Gillen and the Democratic TEAM on the County Leg ...   the Reich-Wing Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity are  just livid that we had the audacity to turn turn Downtown around from the  empty ghost town that the GOP led County Legislature had turned it into.

They have always been the party of no ---  they want no progress .. no common sense .. no improvement  .. and they have no idea how to govern effectively.

Thank you MC1, thank you for doing the math and proving the point that a for-profit business is having its PILOT funded with taxpayer money. Certainly explains why the City taxpayers are going bankrupt ...funding businesses will take more money than Schenectady has.

So, are ALL the PILOTS getting taxpayer money to pay their bills? This is backdoor dealing and 'fancy' math. Too bad MC1 can add....

I have absolutely NO problem paying the extra sales tax to fund Metroplex  -- it is money well spent.  They have done an awesome job under Ray Gillen and the Democratic majority on the County Leg.

I see no further point in arguing.

Because you're in Rotterdam, your property and school tax base hasn't been crippled by the millions of dollars needed to support these Downtown businesses. Also, the PILOTS are receiving taxpayer money to PAY their PILOT agreements?!?!

DVR understands the importance of high taxes-lol. Well Spent? Millions flushed on greedy nonprofits and connected millionaires that refuse to get any skin in the game.
