All the international union heads are in Wisconsin because they know as Wisconsin goes so does the rest of the country. Indiana just passed a law today making them the 23rd right to work state.
No, it is more important to dismantle the republicans because Mean-Face Mike O'Connor says so, that way you can run third party candidates and get 11% of the vote to make a statement against the two-party system. Then you can get the ONE party (democrap-socialist) to run everything, and then everything will just be alright. Because, lets face it, that is what is going to keep happening when you have guys like unelectable mean-faced Mike being the jesus of the third party gumbahs.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Wisconsin's governor is going too far --- I agree that the state workers should pay for part of their retirement and health insurance ... and, in fact, the unions are willing to negotiate on that point. But the Governor wants to take away their collective bargaining rights and THAT is the point neither the union or I could ever go along with.

You're kidding me right? You believe in this two party system in Schenectady County? Political parties in Schenectady County (especially Rotterdam) are the equivalent of chairs in the game of musical chairs. Politicians go round and round and hope to get a seat on one of them before the music turns off. (And it doesn't matter which one)
FDR warned against collective bargaining for government unions (read his 1937 letter) The American Presidency Project ^ | August 16, 1937 | Franklin Delano Roosevelt

My dear Mr. Steward:
As I am unable to accept your kind invitation to be present on the occasion of the Twentieth Jubilee Convention of the National Federation of Federal Employees, I am taking this method of sending greetings and a message.
Reading your letter of July 14, 1937, I was especially interested in the timeliness of your remark that the manner in which the activities of your organization have been carried on during the past two decades "has been in complete consonance with the best traditions of public employee relationships." Organizations of Government employees have a logical place in Government affairs.
The desire of Government employees for fair and adequate pay, reasonable hours of work, safe and suitable working conditions, development of opportunities for advancement, facilities for fair and impartial consideration and review of grievances, and other objectives of a proper employee relations policy, is basically no different from that of employees in private industry. Organization on their part to present their views on such matters is both natural and logical, but meticulous attention should be paid to the special relationships and obligations of public servants to the public itself and to the Government.
All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with Government employee organizations. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or rules in personnel matters.
Particularly, I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place in the functions of any organization of Government employees. Upon employees in the Federal service rests the obligation to serve the whole people, whose interests and welfare require orderliness and continuity in the conduct of Government activities. This obligation is paramount. Since their own services have to do with the functioning of the Government, a strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government until their demands are satisfied. Such action, looking toward the paralysis of Government by those who have sworn to support it, is unthinkable and intolerable. It is, therefore, with a feeling of gratification that I have noted in the constitution of the National Federation of Federal Employees the provision that "under no circumstances shall this Federation engage in or support strikes against the United States Government." successful.I congratulate the National Federation of Federal Employees the twentieth anniversary of its founding and trust that the convention will, in every way, be successful.
Very Sincerely Yours,
(FDR) Even the liberals idol FDR was against collective bargaining by government employees.
Both local parties need to get rid of the old and bring in the new. They have all been in 'the family' for too long! That's why there is so much inner fighting. That's why rotterdam is a sh!thole!
Just like Wisconsin................it's time (over time) for a change. There is a global movement for change, in case no one has noticed. Things can not continue the way it has.

Like every other state in the country, Wisconsin is managing in a weak economy. The difference is that Wisconsin is managing better or at least it had been managing better until Walker took over.
Despite shortfalls in revenue following the economic downturn, Wisconsin has BALANCED BUDGETS, maintained basic services and high-quality schools, and kept employment and business development steadier than the rest of the country.
The nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau's report says the state will end the 2009-2011 budget biennium with a BUDGET SURPLUS.
In its Jan. 31 memo on the condition of the state’s budget, the Fiscal Bureau determined that the state will end the year with a balance of $121.4 million. Walker claims there is a $137 million deficit -- it is not because of a drop in revenues or increases in the cost of state employee contracts, benefits or pensions. It is because Walker pushed through $140 million in NEW SPENDING for special-interest groups in January.
If the Legislature were simply to rescind Walker’s NEW SPENDING the “crisis” would not exist.

Wisconsin faces a budget shortfall of $137 million for the current FY2011 and the prospect of a $3.6 billion hole in the coming two-year budget.[1] Gov. Scott Walker proposed budget cuts to balance the state's budget, and a bill related to collective bargaining by unions triggered days of protests in the state capitol.[1]
Wisconsin has a total state debt of $17,971,519,547 when calculated by adding the total of outstanding debt, pension and OPEB UAAL’s, unemployment trust funds and the 2010 budget gap as of July 2010.[2]

The state faces a $3.6 billion budget shortfall over the next 2 years.[5]
Governor Scott Walker has said that he will not raise taxes[6] but will tackle the estimated $3.1 billion shortfall with the budget that he was topresent on Feb. 22, 2011.[7] The governor will deliver his budget address as scheduled on Feb. 22, 2011, but will delay introducing the budget bill.[8]
The proposed budget will include the possibility of selling power plants at state facilities, including university campuses and prisons.[9] State agencies have requested $1.1 billion in new funding for a "cost to continue" budget for the 2011-13 biennium.[10]

Democrats and Obama justify TRILLIONS in new spending by claiming we are in the worst recession since the Great Depression. Every speech Obama gave had the word "crisis" in it. Walker is cutting spending because there is no money, while Obama is increasing spending when there is no money. Democrats and Obama painted themselves into a corner in the public debate. They can't claim "national financial crisis" and say Wisconsin is somehow insulated from it.

Government employees should never have been allowed to have the option to collective bargain. The reason that many of the states are in a fiscal crisis is due to the promises that were made a long time ago that have now become so expensive that the states can't afford to pay for them. Back when I started my employment state workers didn't get as much money per week as I did in the private but they got good benefits like health-care and pension. Now the state workers get more per week than the private sector and still also get a better pension and more money in their retirement so it's time to level the playing field again and bring state/federal workers more in line with the private sector which has to pay for the salaries and benefits or bankrupt the state and then they get nothing IMHO.
Public Employees in Wisconsin have agreed to renegotiate their benefits to cut their costs to the state... That IS NOT the issue. The Governor wants to end collective bargaining... NOT balance the state's fiscal crisis, but END COLLECTIVE BARGAINING.
