Mr. DelGallo and Mr. Godlewski chose to betray the people that worked their butts off to get them elected. They chose to go down the path of bullying town employees, verbally abusing and hiding information from their fellow town board members and insisting on governing in a style reminiscent of Kadafi or Mubarek.
Speaking for myself, I don't need any influence from any other person to have made up my mind. Stick a fork in them ... they are done.
This speaks volumes about how BOTH political parties handle the political neophyte when they stray from the party script. Though Mertz isn't new to politics, he was new to Rotterdam politics, and FDG was never involved. In both cases - off with their heads - and not by general election, but at the hands of their own party. The fact is, the people that control the parties are the politicians of Rotterdam past, and are unpalatable and unelectable. So they latch on to new names and faces and attempt to control them from behind the scenes. If they step out of line, they chop their heads off and get new. Like GB stated before, the Dems have been going into the Conservative sand pile to find electable candidates for a while now. |

You were warned!!!!!!!!!! Mr. Parisi warned you! Mr tommasone warned you never trust a man that refuses to debate...it means he's either got something to hide or unfit for office. The writing was on the wall ronny but you didn't want to read it because you saw that big shiney D after FDG's name. You get what you deserve! Maybe next time you will listen when people with actual intelligence speak! You are a child in an adult's world and you need to realize it.
what you have mistaken is the allowance of their positions....they are being held to the light to show what Rotterdam is made up of... and that it DOESN'T matter which party...it never did....Rotterdam did get exactly what it deserves....a sight into what really happens regardless of which party is in.....only the 'Jesuslewskigallo' became their Rosemary's baby.....sometimes ya gotta see yourself lying on the floor in a pool of your own vomit before you realize it's time to get the "F" up and pay attention...... |

I can say that I am proud of having supported, worked for and voted for the elections of Mr. Martin, Ms. Dileva and Calder. They have approached their positions with a sincere desire to serve the people and have made a good faith effort to WORK TOGETHER .. not just with themselves but with the supervisor and the deputy supervisor. These three understand that there are some big issues facing our town. They have tried to be reasonable and work towards "moving the ball forward" on these issues -- that is making progress towards improving the situation in our town -- whether it is in the area of taxes, intergovernmental cooperation and just plain restoring a sense of neighborliness and community pride in the town. The fact that the deputy supervisor is intent on playing the role of the "man behind the curtain" and has continually thrown up obstacles against common sense and progress is deplorable. The fact that the supervisor either just lets it continue or is complicit in it .. is equally deplorable. I sincerely believe that the supervisor is basically a nice person .. a generous person --- that is why it has been extremely difficult to come out against him on these issues. But I can not remain silent when town employees are bullied around and made to feel like crap. It tears me apart to walk into town hall or the senior center and to see our good and decent town employees dejected, fearful and .. yes .. even .. crying -- about their work environment. It angers me to hear the supervisor and deputy supervisor make the comments that they make about Ms. DiLeva .. some are not repeatable. It angers me to hear them refer to mr. Martin as "the kid" and expect him to act like a puppy on a leash .. and just follow their orders and wishes.
Mr. Martin may be young .. but he is extremely intelligent and has very enthusiastically approached his role on the Town Board. Observing him as both a candidate and an elected official, I have come to have more respect for him than I have had for just about any other public official that I have personally known over the years.
Ms. DiLeva can be strong-willed and a fighter -- and that is exactly what i like in a public office holder .... I strongly believe that she has the best interests of the people at heart. Furthermore, I believe that it she has been specifically mistreated because she is a woman.
Finally, the mere fact that the supervisor and deputy supervisor make 100% agreement with them a criteria for their loyalty is just plain childish. Maybe - the deputy supervisor forgets when only about 5 or 6 people were out there busting their butts to get him elected to the town board a few years back. And even during the good times of the 2009 race -- the actual number of folks pounding the pavement and doing the grunt work of the campaign was still rather small --- we did it because we believed that the WHOLE team was worth working for and that the WHOLE team would work together and do what is right.
Then to have to watch the past 14 months -- it is just plain sad. No one betrayed the supervisor and the deputy supervisor --- they betrayed the team ... they betrayed the town.

Spidey -- with all due respect -- I would not seek the advice of Mr. Parisi or Mr Tommasone on any matter. They are just as bad. As for your little insult at the end -- quite honestly -- it just goes to prove what kind of nasty and vile personthat you are. |

Well said and right on target! It's obvious that the rotterdam 'three musketeers' didn't stray from the party script. It is 'politics as usual' in rotterdam again!! HURRAY! |

Senders, it is not about their compensation or benefits --- it is about the way they are talked to and mistreated. I have supervised people in the past and would NEVER treat people the way they were and are treated. It is not right that our town employees go to work each morning -- in fear of what the "boss" or the "man behind the curtains" will do to them today. The moving around of those employees --- was done out of revenge and to "teach people a lesson" --- the decision to try to fire Ms. Marco -- same reason ----- the attack on the Parks Commission --- > was an attempt to "teach me a lesson" for not kowtowing to these two and because they are jealous that I am friends with people that they have determined should be on my list of friends. Quite honestly -- it is ridiculous and pathetic. The only question is who they will target next. |

I have voted for a Republican for Town Supervisor in the past -- a number of years ago. I have voted for Republicans for a number of offices -- and worked on their campaigns as well.
As of today, I have not heard which candidates have sent letters asking to be considered for the Democratic endorsement for Town Supervisor. I have not made any commitments to any potential candidates yet.
I am not making any endorsements at the moment --- but Ms. DiLeva is on my "short list" of persons that I would support for Town Supervisor. Bear in mind, I have not ruled out running for the office myself. |

some folks at dunkin donuts were talking last weekend and they said that ND would refuse a dem endorsement. But that was said by folks that had a few coffees under their belt. |

if they had learned the skills to work with a boss(I'm not saying rude behavior did not occur) this would be a nothing conversation.... if you dont like it---walk if your boss doesn't like it---walk having someone else do the talking for you weakens one's own ability to work as an individual |

Actually -- it is the "boss" or in this case two guys who think they are "kings of everything" need to learn howto work with others -- like their EQUALS on the town board, the real bosses .. the residents, and the good folks who keep town government running smoothly .. the town workers. It is both sad and ridiulous that with all the problems that need to be addressed in the town --- that these two - instead of focusing on the existing "fires" that need to be put out have chosen to run around with fuel cans and kindling in hand -- lobbing incendiary devices to start new "fires" in town. |
