Scarboroughs Restaurant & Tavern in Rotterdam is leaving its home of 29 years and moving to Latham.

After operating for almost three decades in leased space in the Hannaford Plaza in Rotterdam, the casual lunch and dinner venue will relocate to a renovated farmhouse at 497 Old Niskayuna Road, behind Peter Harris Plaza. A mid-March opening is planned.................>>>>......................>>>>........................... http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/morning_call/2011/02/scarboroughs-restaurant-moving-from.html

This just means that Hannaford Plaza is going to look more and more like the wonderfully successful Curry Road Shopping Plaza.  Maybe someone wil sell it to the town.

Using DVOR's mentality / analogy - this is all the DEMS fault.  They had a good business in Rotterdam when REPS were running it.  After all, it's Farley's fault Borders is closing in Saratoga, right DVOR?

The only restaurant that I could find that served Hot Roast Beef on Kummelweck sandwich in the area. And it tasted just like the ones back home in Buffalo area.  A weck sandwich is a specialty from the Buffalo area.  Being Buffalo born I really missed that sandwich.  They have the meanest horseradish going too.  Loved it.  In fact my friend got the info from the owners on where to get it.

Will miss the ease of going there being so close but doesn't mean I can't drive to Latham

Wishing them the most success.

So unfortunate Rotterdam is losing another good business.

But hey, even if it's moving to Latham, that still makes it a local small business, right, DVOR?  Even if it's not located in town, it's still a local business as long as it's within what, 100 miles?  I guess it's still a local business.

Good for them. They have great food and good service. They will do very well.

This news was broken by BT over a year ago on this site. Wish them well as I would any small business. Excellent wings and have to try their beef on weck which we love when in Batavia. Why should they stay in this County and fund competition with their taxes?

Make sure Landslide/ANG/Death Ray/Gazetto subtract these jobs for the phony baloney list they all lie about creating. Another small business fleeing the Schenectady County socialist paradise-nothing new here-let's move on.

Ya notice, DV praises everything about Schenectady, saying it's improving greatly.  Yet another long time business (that doesn't scam the taxpayers) is leaving and DV is speechless.

I like their food and it was nice to not have to go far.   They'll be missed.

But in retrospect, I wonder why they didn't look to the former Edgewood, was that still too small?

Because they will do 5 times the revenues in Latham than they will in Rotterdam. Also after the Chinese got done with the Edgewood property and the feds seized it, it was basically unusable and needed to be demolished.

MC1, if you wonder about democrapicvoodoorepeater being speechless, he won't be for long- he will probably come out bashing the food and service at the place, making up some weird lie about them overcooking his auntie's steak once and then refusing to make good on it, thereby insulting the "Seversen name." I can hear him now, pontificating: "My family refrains from partaking in their establishment and we bring our business to the Recovery Room or one of the Lame-mozzis fine establishments, where the food is truly to die for Mmmmmmyeasss indeed!"
