I'm not in a government position(except for under the damn thing)....I have a 'regular' job....I dont know who you think everyone is but, I've tried to pick out folks and it just doesn't go.....so I just stick to me....

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
May I also add and question why ND would choose to run for super when BM has already thrown his hat in the ring? She knows he is running. She knows he is seeking the rep endorsement, being a registered rep himself. She knows he will also guarantee a second line (nntp). She knows he is a staunch conservative. She knows that he showed very well in the last election. She knows that his first fundraiser for this election was proof of his supporters. She knows that he is very well liked and respected and educated and more than capable of the job of service.
So I guess my question is............is she trying to be a spoiler??
I just saw this BT...to answer your questions...
ND has been thinking about running for that position since long before Brian threw his hat into the ring. Nobody knows anything, except that BM took it upon himself to simply declare that he was running for Supervisor...without ever securing the support of his Party, or any other for that matter....and the NNTP is not a Party.
BM's idea of "seeking" the endorsement of his new Party was walking in their door one day and believing he will call the shots the next...like it or not, it doesn't work that way.
ND is also conservative.
BM showed well for Row Z...but the reality is that you cannot win on a line like that alone...and historically, those lines never generate the voting volume they do the first time around.
No one knows anything about BM's fundraiser or its implications because he has not yet filed the financial disclosure for that period.
And no one is disputing BM's attractive personality or capabilities...but there are plenty of others who consider ND to be just as likeable....she is also educated...and an educator...just like BM....except she is already demonstrating fitness for service...BM would be on-the-job-training. BM could also be an exceptional public servant...but it could be done in a number of different capacities...it doesn't necessarily have to be as Supervisor specifically.
BM would in fact be the spoiler...as he has already threatened to spoil if he doesn't get his way....whereas ND would step aside if BM were endorsed...she wouldn't intentionally spoil his chances because the GOP wouldn't cave to demands she hasn't made, unlike BM.

...Or ND will seek out the Democrat endorsement like she did last year. The fact that BM won't "cave" shows he's principled and has convictions. Unlike ND who will change her political philosophy and support whatever platform the party bosses tell her to support - Democrat, Republican, and Conservative.
BM is forced to play the game the way our election laws have been written. The two major parties that wrote the laws make it VERY difficult to get on the ballot without party endorsement - how convenient. Is running to another party chairperson and begging for their endorsement the way our democracy is supposed to work?
Spoiler is a loaded word. Just because a person loses a party primary doesn't mean that person is a spoiler. There are MANY voters that are not affiliated with a recognized party. Don't they deserve a candidate on the ballot that they support? Or should they be forced to vote for the candidate the party they don't care to belong to chose for them?

First, and it appears, that BM did not walk in calling all the shots as you state. BM is a registered republican as of recent which again appears that, although an independent thinker, is willing to work with the reps to gain badly needed seats countywide. BM can also walk in guaranteeing a second line, NNTP.
Second, ND ran with the liberal pack in the last election. She too 'was' a rep but turned con. One would have to assume that since she denounced the rep party, joined the con party and ran with the dem party...........she would do the same again. After all, she won the election with the support of the con/dem parties. Why not do it again?
Third, most folks assume that ND will again seek endorsements from the dem/con party, as she previously did and received. Remember, she abandoned the rep party. So it's clearly a ND/HB issue.
BM is a registered rep, seeking their endorsement for supervisor. Plain and simple. No spoiler here!! ND is a registered con and should be seeking their endorsement along w/the dems since they are in lock step with each other.

I don't buy this "spoiler" label.
The Democrats are the ones who courted ND...not the other way around...same with the GOP.
Things aren't always as they seem...
ND hasn't changed her political philosophy...she is and always was conservative...and unlike BM, she is not pandering to different Party personalities of influence...they are the ones looking for her.
The Election Law in and of itself doesn't put BM or anyone else at a disadvantage as long as all have to follow the same rules...which they do.
I am not suggesting that a Primary loser is a spoiler...or that there are not plenty of voters unaffiliated with a Party...but if the Party's members do not nominate someone of their choosing then the unaffiliated voters really have little to say about the business of a Party to which they don't belong...by their own choice...and no one is forcing them to vote for anyone.

There you go with the assuming again BT...things aren't always as they seem.

First............what chain of events caused ND to change from rep to con??
Second......ND has shown her change in political philosophy from the beginning of her rotterdam tb term. 'yes' for the army depot zoning change! 'yes' for BI zoning change. 'yes' for a REMS vote. Many rotterdamians were negatively impacted by these votes and will remember.
Third.........She changed her political philosophy right in front of the rotterdam residents eyes as she re-grouped with GP. Forth.........She is all over the place in philosophy and ideology and party affiliation. BM has NEVER waffled on his ideology!!
Anyway, she is a registered CON with a past endorsement from both the cons and dems. Her competition is with HB not BM!!

And if he is not nominated, then runs in a Primary and loses, he is a spoiler as soon as he circulates an independent nominating petition...as he has already threatened to do if he is not nominated...which would not only make him a spoiler, but an intentional spoiler. His new Party won't embrace that sort of thing....no Party would...and if it was not his intention to work with the Party he chose to join, then I don't know why he enrolled with them in the first place.

The circumstances that led to ND's enrollment with the CP is irrelevant.
Putting REMS up for a vote? BT....BM supported the same vote...his exact words at the podium and ultimately quoted in the newspaper was "this issue should not be decided by five people"....indicating that it should be decided by the voters...not the five member Town Board that was trying to just ram it through.
How does GP's support of ND's initiatives change ND's philosophy?

Just wondering, Why do you think he won't work with the party? Or maybe the party won't work with him because they want it their way . . . . .
All can speculate and try to shore up certain candidates, but cast your vote for the best candidate you feel there is. Part of your deliberation is where Rotterdam has been, where it is, and where it should be, and whom can get it there, plain and simple . . .
The circumstances that led to ND's enrollment with the CP is irrelevant.
Oh but it IS relevant!

Gadfly--she will be tough sell. Her harsh exterior makes her unappealing.
I don't think her "harsh exterior" makes her a tough sell. She isn't afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what's right, because she's a woman does that mean she is "harsh". There are things that need to be said and to get a word in with some of these board members sometimes you have to speak up, ssome men don't like that, especially men who are used to getting there way!
