itd be pretty ironic if the ones cheering get off my backs were supporting a jobless loser trying to suck the governments teat

Maybe he does have a job, maybe he doesn't.  I haven't personally mentioned this on here, as I don't know his specific position at the moment.  What does it matter?  Maybe there's some other people that have been feeding off the government teat for too long (such as many of the people at the county level).

kevin you seem like a reasonable guy. If you are against others that suck at the government teat why would  you want another one? I don't agree with spidey's level of hostility, but the underlying point is true. We need a change in the attitude of legislators and need to return to legislators like us, aka with jobs and bills and understanding making hard decisions. If wade doesn't have a job, i think that is an important thing to consider.

I understand that we need a change in the "attitude of legislators."  I think that Mr. Abbott would bring exactly that, a change in the attitude.  Personally, I don't know what Mr. Abbott's position is as far as a job right now, and I'm not sure I agree with posting my beliefs, so that is why I have not posted them.  I know, personally, that Wade Abbott is someone who would fight for the taxpayers, and whether he has a job at the moment or not, he is a community resident who has been quite active in local politics as of late.

As far as I understand, Wade is unemployed at the moment, but I don't know if he is "sucking at the government teat."  From what I understand, he returned to school to better himself, and as far as I know, his wife is working.  I don't feel at ease stating whether or not they are on any type of assistance, but at the same time, I don't think it's my place to comment on that in any way, whether I knew they were or not.

I have spoken to Wade Abbott several times, and I think, if your comment is what you're actually looking for, "We need a change in the attitude of legislators and need to return to legislators like us, aka with jobs and bills and understanding making hard decisions," then I think that while he may not be going to work every day, he is a parent in another struggling Rotterdam family and he is a person who knows the issues at the county level, that we're overtaxed and need to find ways to make those cuts, and I think that he would be an ideal person to help to lead the county back in the appropriate direction.  I know it's going to take a while, but if we don't start putting the right people in now, we will not see the change for even longer.  The question is, do you want the status quo at the county level, or do you think that someone who has the ideals to start turning things around now?

I don't remember if it was posted in this link or not, but feel free to see Mr. Abbott's remarks regarding his running at the following link, on his blog...  http://thisordinarycitizen.wordpress.com/2011/02/16/the-campaign-announcement/

Actually, I guess that's where it started, so you can just go back to the beginning of this to read his statement.

Rotterdam town board members have all had private jobs. Look how well that worked out for them.

I never said whether he was on public assistance of any kind or not.  The fact of the matter is that I don't know what his current situation is, and if I did, it's not my place to put it into the public, that it HIS place, and his place alone.  As fas as your comment regarding him and his wife, this is one of the most sexist comments I have ever heard.  What if Mr. Abbott was Mrs. Abbott instead, and decided to stay home to take care of the children? Then, we would be singing the praises of the family for having the mother home to take care of the children each day and to spend time?  Or would this not come up as an issue, as it couldn't be used against him/her?  I don't know that I have ever met his wife, maybe she makes enough to support the family, and them some.  Unless you know the facts, I would request that you refrain from your namecalling.

Yes, she does, but I don't know what it is.  Sory, but if everyone is so interested about where each person is working, and what they do, and if they're on the public teat, then why don't you stop sitting here asking those questions and track them down and ask them yourself.  It appears you have enough time during the day to sit here and complain that they just take the public money (whether you know they do or you have no clue).  What are you doing?  Is this the pot calling the kettle black (and this is not just meant towrads one person, but towards the general public, sorry if anyone feels singled out).

What do you say about a person that is accomplished financially but is not accomplished personally in areas like starting and raising a family?  If a person spends their entire life working and making money,  but never attempted the awesome responsibility of managing a home and family, and balancing that with work - does that person lack the skills to represent those that he/she has no idea what the people in the real world are dealing with?  Does that clown FS have a wife and children?  What other "traditional conservatives" are running around preaching how great and accomplished they are, but they haven't a CLUE because they never had the balls to join the grown up world and start a family.  I would choose a person that understands the real life stresses of what families have to deal with, over some self centered ego maniac that buried themselves in their careers.

If an elected official only knows how to make decision that only effect themselves and their money and never had to make decisions that would effect the livelihood of a family, how can you trust they will make the right decisions that would effect a whole community?

Hey dumba$$, I was defending Wade Abbott.  Let black spidey answer the question.  Surely he/she would know, since they want to start attacking reputations

But based on kevin's comment it seems she has a job, not sure why you are trying to question her reputation though...Just so we are clear because you think its wrong to question someones reputation you will question another person's reputation? got it...

if she had a job why would she be interviewing? huh spidey

and in theory isnt the chair in charge of backing and supporting the person in charge of your money into office?

Quoted from black spidey
Greeny I'm sure Guidorelli, Brassard, Buchanan and IMAWHORE planned this out from day 1... In exchange for helping Imawhore get elected so that buchanan and Imawhore can use the party for their personal reasons, Guidorelli got his wife a job...But remember Peter has nothing to do with politics he's just a regular guy.... They are all slime and need to be kicked to the curb!!!!!

I heard that Buchanan got Guido's wife hired even though Lynn Fiorillo and Tracy Donovan were interviewed. So they pissed on the candidate that gave Eunice the closest election ever! ANd don't forget they pissed on the chairwoman of the rotterdam committee. REALLY!!!!? This makes sense to who? We see where the allegiances are!!!!
