Did you hear about the free Super Bowl Party Mercury Morris threw at Proctor's? Neither did anyone else. Morris set up a 50 foot screen in the GE Theatre for a free Super Bowl viewing. Of course he refused to tell anyone about it. From Dean of Local Reporters Marv Cermak {TU}-"Unfortunately fewer than 100 people showed up for the freebie, the best buy in town. Proctor's Morris, undismayed by the small turnout, plans to use the same no admission format in 2012. A little more promotion would help fill the 450 seat venue." Here we go again. Why should some private business make any money on the Super Bowl? Mercury Morris will undermine taxpaying business with his family and DEM friends party. The taxpayers can waste more money advertising this freebie next year. BTW why was there no election results party at Proctor's this past November?-lol. |

Is the invitation out to the entire county? I think it should be, considering that's who's paying the bills for Proctors. If so, then who wants to schedule a road trip down to at least take a few of our tax dollars back next year? |

There are three stations OSM had to advertise this. Nice to see that Proctors is willing to give back to the community....they just don't tell the community about it. We paid for it....you're welcome. |

Wonder how many members of the Gazetto were present? Proctor's should not be involved in a money loser especially when they force employees out in the summer and refuse to pay any PILOT. Let Mercury Morris host a Super Bowl party at his palatial Rotterdam home. On his dime-not the taxpayers. This is small potatoes but shows his mindset-screw the County taxpayers out of every nickle. Next year watch the catering hall or Muddy Cup provide taxpayer funded eats for the Mercury Morris friends and family club. |

I'd would appear that it was deliberately kept hushed. FREE SUPERBOWL??? Every city resident from the hill, vale and mt. pleasant would have been there. I believe it was advertised through the chamber. So it obviously went out to the select few.
And I'm sure that if this was going to be a big deal....the gazette would have made it FRONT PAGE NEWS!!

Right the same way they got permission from Disney for the Christmas parade? This was a Morris friends and family event for chosen media insiders and Chamber hacks. The same idiots that pretend to think taking a 3 story bank permanently off the tax rolls is "a positive thing". As usual, the residents that actually pay to keep this theatre open were excluded. The contempt for the taxpayers, at TH, at City Hall, at the County and at Proctor's is absolutely disgusting. The DEM political pigs are too busy feeding at the trough to give a flying fig. |
