Funny you should ask this question! A resident spoke at the TB meeting tonight requesting that the Board reduce the Clerk's salary to $1 per year until such time she returns to work. He was told she is out on medical leave and because she is an elected official, her salary cannot be touched.

Yup we are stuck with the fraud queen. So when she kicks, they should probably bury her in Florida. IMHO I think there will be a lot of spit on her grave if they bury her here. |

I told yall this 3 months ago http://www.rotterdamny.net/m-1272675917/s-210/#num218DVOR thought it could be ( http://www.rotterdamny.net/m-1272675917/s-210/#num219) .. but it can't. We're stuck with it.
Quoted Text
Sending her on disability does not lessen the salary that she was elected to receive till the end of her term. Nobody can take that away from her, she is legally entitled to that until the end of her term, either through election or retirement/resignation - neither of which I'd expect to come any time soon.
Putting her on disability pay would only end up costing NY'ers more - along with insurance, any public services she's entitled to, etc.
Bottom line, she needs to be told to retire - and a special election held, immediately.

The town board needs to have her assessed by. Three doctors to see if she is fit for office. - the cost would be worth the savings |

So is EE collecting a disability or comp pay since she is ill? |

It sounded as though an elected official's salary is protected during illness at least for the duration of the elected term. I don't believe it is disability or comp pay, it is EE's budgeted salary which cannot be retracted as a result of illness, and as protected by "Election Law"! |

This statement was made by the Supervisor at last night's meeting...and how many times has he been correct or told the truth? Is this really true? Does anyone know election law? |
