I think to examine his answer, we all need to look at how much M'plex spent, of taxpayer $, to get that $4.5m.  I'm betting it's somewhere around 2:1 or 3:1.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this.  But watch DV claim that the taxpayers are getting rewarded.  Yep, the know-nothing cheerleader for downtown.

At the same time - if he is underpaid compared to what other people in his industry are paid - in a similar role...  Then frankly his credibility would grow with me.

Mercury is so underpaid his was the only salary not reported in the bird cage wrap? It should be on their tax forms-like every other nonprofit-but it ain't. Word on State St is Mercury's salary is in excess of $300,000! No wonder he can't pay any fair share PILOT. He has no credibility and brags about moving from the Stockade to a huge mansion in Rotterdam.

Another insane defense of Death Ray in the Gazetto masked as a criticism. For the Gazetto-NO INFO. Proctor's pays ZERO in taxes. They own 440 State, The Muddy Cup and Key Hall which all pay ZERO. ZERO remains ZERO forever. As far as Paul Michell, Death Ray forgets that taxpayers dumped over a million into that building for The Big Hose-which of course never opened. Bombers paid $8,000 in City taxes last year. Villa is equally low and subordinated a City loan at the last Council meeting. The movie house is bombing and will never pay full assessment. Trustco is the tip of the fiscal incompetence that permeates both Metrograft and the County.

How much did the Plex hand over to all these projects with ZERO interest and payable over 10 years? PILOT payments...where is it documented where that money goes? The Plex collects them and where in the City budget are these millions of dollars?

If the PILOT program was doing so much for Schenectady then why is the city operating with a $13 million deficit, has to constantly keep raising taxes, create new fees, and school taxes rise every year. In order to be working the program needs to lower taxes for residents, create jobs, and attract businesses to want to come here. Now ask yourself the question are any of these things happening and are things getting better for the taxpayer?

Exactly right. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. The City can't pay for basic fire services. Drive down any street-major or minor. Beirut has better road surfaces. $13 MILLION City deficit next year-they passed a budget that is so pathetic they will have to borrow to meet operating expenses by July. A joke everyone that voted for it must be thrown out of office.

Death Ray's PILOT plan is a way to screw taxpayers. By the time it gets to full assessment the business flees. Like Mayor Stratton. It's all nonsense. Most people understand they are getting screwed when they see the latest tax bill. Start PILOTS for nonprofits only.

Ellis, Union and Proctor's should be paying $1 million a year-like in Troy. Throw us a bone. The taxpayer should throw up a tax strike line on the first night of The Lion King maybe that would get to Mercury. But these political connected pigs refuse to do anything. Its all hooray for me-I installed a new kitchen-f you.

So after almost $75M....the return is $4.5M?????????
How about all of the metroplex employee salaries?
Does Gillen drive his own vehicle around town? Who pays for the gas?
The loans for zero interest?

This article from the gazette is just further proof that the plex has failed!! Pat Z's info pretty much proved that!!

Giving the benefit of the doubt that Metroplex averaged a tax revenue return of $4.5 million every year since its inception, that would be $54 million over 12 years.  Looks like we are losing .30 cents on every dollar invested.

Bird cage wrap?  Educate me please?

I just can't believe he is paid anywhere near that amount of money.

Metrograft is a total taxpayer ripoff. Reward DEM connected friends and family while closing anyone not goosestepping to the New County Order. What is the return on $10 MILLION of County funds given to Proctor's? What is the return of $2 MILLION in State money given to Proctor's? How about $300,000 to promote Art Nights? ZERO-nothing.

Mercury Morris refuses to pay even to help keep one City pool open. He gives you this crapola about helping other businesses. Then buys a huge mansion in Rotterdam. After a show the theatre patrons run to their cars. They can't flee fast enough. A few go nearby gin mills that pay next to nothing. Three card monty where the taxpayer always loses.

Well, there are many deals going on in the City which are VERY hard to believe. If Morris was on the up-and-up, this info would have been released a long time ago.

The Gazetto published a list of all the highest paid non profit leaders in Schenectady-Bethesda House and City Mission were listed. The only one missing was MM. He "leads" OSM/Muddy Cup/Capital Rep/and in his spare time he runs a theatre that lost one million last year.

Reporters have gone through tax reports and there is no listing as to what he makes. If the golf pro at Muni can make $330,000 and City Mission makes $90,000 what do you think he pulls down? The sky's the limit.

especially in that industry....what's funny is we complain about the $$ politicians make and yet we feed into the like of the Kardashians
and Mercury Morris just to feel important when rubbing elbows in our ordinary lives.....

HELLO FOLKS....WE ARE PIONEERING AMERICANS.....WE DONT NEED TO HAVE THEM, TO MAKE US......

when a society becomes at ease dropping names to make itself feel important it loses it's soul and others tell them who they are
instead of just being exactly who/what they are without the crap fed them....
