Car crashes into Schenectady liquor store
February 05, 2011 6:49 PM

A car has crashed into the Guidarelli's liquor store on Broadway in Schenectady.

An employee there told CBS6 the car came right into the store, smashing liquor bottles all over the place.

Nobody was injured, and there's no word on a cause yet.

That's not the first time a car has come down the hill and hit that building.

Great store, but the parking and access is horrible.

"snowy Congress street" maybe they'll get a plow out there to do a better job. Thank God no injuries.

first it would actually have to be a priority.....it's like in Rotterdam 'certain areas' get priority with the street cleaner and plows....why
would they make that area a priority?

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

How many times does this liquor store have to be plowed into before they RELOCATE????
I'm surprised they can still find an insurance company to insure them.....really!

Maybe they should just make it a "drive thru" liquor store  ?????????

Maybe if Stratton declared a snow emergency earlier, got streets plowed correctly, maybe if the city got out there an cleaned the streets, salted the streets, etc, maybe if the mayor spent money on vital essential city services instead of giving taxpayer dollars to the millionaire politically connected downtown.

Or the parking lot collapse? A great store, the lowest prices, knowledgeable staff, with terrible parking and too close to Congress St. "flux".

The Guidarelli's should approach Metrograft's Death Ray for relocation funds to the Arts and Drunk District Downtown. What's an Arts and Drunk District without a great liquor store?

Oh I agree! The city streets are a total disaster even in good weather. But in defense.....Broadway Hill is a beast! Not only is it a 'hill', it has curves at it's steepest point. Not to mention the turn in and out of Crane street, which is also on a slight hill before it enters Broadway. And a stop light right in the middle of it all!!!!! AND the dss building where there is always a stoppage of traffic!

Broadway Hill should be avoided at all costs during the winter. I would not own a business there.

If they are that successful....they don't need taxpayer's money to relocate!!!!!!!

Lansing Street, Yorkston Street and Crane Street are a mess.     Considering that there is a public elementary school there ... one would think some effort would have been made to plow BOTH lanes of Yorkston and Lansing ---- and, also, remove enough of the snowbank so that students, parents and teachers don't fall and break their arses.    The city and the school district are responsible for cleaning those sidewalks --- at least for the next 2 1/2 years.

All the time we all say that the streets in the city are terrible, you have been writing that the streets were fine.  We all say that while EVERY city around has declared snow emergencies to prohibit parking to facilitate PROPER snow plowing, you have been saying the streets are finel

You have NEVER ONCE said one word against the SOS (symbol of socialistm) mayor for his failure to be a leader of this city......you have NOT ONCE faulted him for failing to declare a snow emergency.

And now you have seen for yourself your dem buddy mayor's lack of leadership.  It's what the rest of us have been saying all along, Failing to declare a snow emergency which results in failure to properly plow the streets is just ONE SMALL PIECE of his lack of leadership.
