Why didn't Sue bring up all this 'information' DV provided? Kinda hard to keep tabs on all the tax free, empty spaces downtown. Let's recap;
433 State, Center City; assessed at $6,317,500 wholly school and property tax exempt from 2008 until ? (Galesi)
411 State, another Galesi property assessed at $1,937,200 wholly exempt 2010-2025
409 State, Galesi property purchased for $1.00 assessed at $579,500 wholly exempt from 2008 - ?
477 State, Bombers assessed at $531,000 wholly exempt 2010 until ?
401 State sold for $1.00 assessed at $2,040,400 wholly exempt from 2008 - ?
This isn't even scratching the surface, yet it's over $10 million in lost property and school taxes.

they just like to hear thems talk when they complain and demonize others. Do us a favor - take a walk on the Western Gateway Bridge and jump in the river. It would go a long way to improving the county and the country.
Ah, the financially struggling taxpayers should be silenced, huh? No complaints allowed. As long as the secret deals made by SOS (and his fellow SOS - Symbols of Socialism) team continue to be made, huh? As long as the financially struggling taxpayers keep getting increases in their OWN property and school taxes AND they are FORCED to pay the property AND school taxes for the politial cronies of the LOL dems, that's better, huh? |
| Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies. |

What school taught you to use the slang "boughten?"
You have told us you were a SCHOOL TEACHER? Are you for real? Or are you in such a panic-stricken state at seeing your domina's career going down the crapper that you didn't check your dialect?
You are officially the greatest sycophant of all time. |

The fact is that moving the county offices to the Trustco building was originally conceived because the State had said that the County Court House building (about 105 years old) is too small and needed to be expanded. Grant money for that expansion was originally promised by the State through the Office of Court Administration -- and this planning actually started well over a decade ago -- the first plan was to buy all the building west of the court house to and including Saint Joseph's church .. and to expand the court building that way. When the diocese said it was not interested in selling the church. The county went to "plan b" -- find a place to move the county offices to and use the state grant to rehabilitate the old county office building and the court house building into a more modern and efficient judicial center. The TrustCo building was boughten --- then there was need for additional grant funds to pay to move the County Clerk's office and all of the county records. It is not as simple as "let's throw everything onto a moving truck and move down to Erie Blvd" --- it is a lot more complicated than that.
Of course, the Nattering Nayboob Twits don't know what they are talking about -- they just like to hear thems talk when they complain and demonize others. Do us a favor - take a walk on the Western Gateway Bridge and jump in the river. It would go a long way to improving the county and the country.

If you look at Merriam-Webster's dictionary --- bought·en adj \ˈbȯ-tən\ Definition of BOUGHTEN
chiefly dialect : bought Origin of BOUGHTEN
bought + -en (as in forgotten) First Known Use: 1738oh -- and in the same dictionary when you look up "dumb-a** loser" ... they have a picture of you and your troglodyte hermaphrodite nattering nayboob of negativity friend |

It is a vernacular. It is not true English you fool. It is like saying "I put my bread in da checkins." Imbecile.
Did your domina whip you for being tardy on the draw? |

GE looking for office space in area The Business Review - by Michael DeMasi Date: Friday, February 4, 2011, 2:32pm EST
General Electric Co. contacted developers in the Albany, New York, region letting them know the company may need up to 100,000 square feet of office space for its future needs. A GE spokeswoman said leases the company has for private office space will be expiring over the next two years. The company will eventually decide whether to renew those leases; move workers to other existing buildings; or consolidate employees into a newly-constructed building. “This is just part of our standard process to assess our office space needs,” said Christine Horne, spokeswoman. GE owns a sprawling campus in Schenectady where about 4,000 people work. The company also has its research and development headquarters in Niskayuna and a new digital X-ray production plant in North Greenbush. GE also leases space in about a half-dozen offices in Albany and Colonie. It is those offices that GE may want to consolidate into one facility, Horne said. Other options include moving some employees to the Schenectady campus.

You think you are more of an expert than the people who wrote the dictionary. That just goes to prove that you are a pathological and arrogant a**hole. It is in the dictionary -- It is English ....and you can kiss my a**. |

I was referring to the asinine comments of GB. The problem of high taxes in the county and the municipalities can be remedied simply --- the state legislature and governor need to pass laws which replace the archaic 19th century forms of government with 21st century "regional government entities" and the state legislature and governor need to reduce and/or eliminate unfunded state mandates and any ridiculous laws which make intergovernmental cooperation difficult or impossible. |

In general - I have a positive view of consolidation in some situations. Not so much in this area - but in areas where there are a lot of small towns and hamlets with all the costs associated with them. But in this area - the city is the population center and it is falling apart in almost every way. The only thing consolidation does here in my opinion - is spread the pain out to other towns who do not currently use city services. Yeah there would be some savings from a consolidated police department, but I'm not sure if that's going to be a huge amount of money. Does Rotterdam really want to pay more, while at the same time losing their own police department? Probably not? |
