Everything this bunch of liberal clowns touch, turns in to higher taxes for the residents. The city either houses non-profits or businesses that are tax exempt. The city is getting pretty damn close to being a city of non-profits and businesses with nothing but section 8/welfare recipients.

And that is why the city wants to consolidate with the towns.......so the towns people can pay the taxes, fees and fines!!

How would like to own a food business Downtown? Not only have these DEM morons opened a tax free catering hall-now they have expanded to coffee! Coming next! Proctor's Lunch Counter! It's not possible to compete with them. And Mercury Morris huge salary is not published and he refuses to pay ANY PILOT. An octopus taking every business on State Street off the tax rolls.

If Proctor's wants to open a coffee house-GREAT-but pay a fair share PILOT on that AND Key Bank/Catering. There is a growing storm brewing as County taxpayers realize they are getting raped to fund Proctor's and other millionaire for profits Downtown.

Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot have all done enough to end the small, independent businesses, BUT, they are retail and they are doing what the free market allows private industry to do - compete.

Not so much with Metroplex. Metroplex is funded with county taxpayer dollars. They are unfairly ending small business in Schenectady by allowing tax exempt, county funded private businessmen an unfair advantage in the City. Of course Mallozi will reap benefits...ANY business which was funded by taxpayer dollars and didn't have to worry about paying triple taxes will make money. It's a no brainer.

Proctors is even more of a scandal. A non-profit competing with for-profit businesses? Wonder how Ambition is feeling about this?

More of the small businesses Downtown need to put down the kool aid, put down the pipe and throw over a table at DSIC/Metrograft/IDA meetings.

      Proctor's/OSM/Morris/Muddy Cup/Key Bank Catering are killing you. This unfair competition from the DEM crony capitalists is destroying small businesses, City taxpayers and any possibility of real job creation.

I talked with a downtown business owner this morning - they're all AFRAID to say something - lest the "machine" bring in competition to shut them down as well, on the taxpayer teet.

It's a no win situation for the downtown, small, independent merchants.

The sad part is ..... proctors, which would not exist without taxpayers money, is the ONLY thing keeping the small eateries in business. They have stated repeatedly, that they make their money when proctors has a BIG show.

So the liberal socialists have 2 blocks of schenectady all tied up at the taxpayer's expense!
