ROTTERDAM
John Mallozzi picked for Metroplex board

BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter
Reach Gazette reporter Justin Mason at 395-3113 or jmason@dailygazette.net.

Restaurateur John Mallozzi was selected to represent Rotterdam on the Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority’s Board of Trustees.
Members of the Town Board unanimously chose Mallozzi for the four-year appointment during their meeting last week. He is expected to replace Patrick Saccocio, who served about two years on the 11-member board.
Mallozzi and his brother, Robert, are partners in the Mallozzi Group. The company operates a number of Capital Region businesses, including Villa Italia Pasticceria in Schenectady; Mallozzi’s Ballrooms & Catering and the Belvedere Hotel in Rotterdam; the Clubhouse at Western Turnpike Golf Courses in Guilderland; the Italian Club and the Brown Derby in downtown Albany.
If confirmed by county legislators, Mallozzi will become the latest member of his family to secure a political appointment in the county. Robert Mallozzi serves as the chairman of the Rotterdam Industrial Development Agency, while their sister, Christine Mallozzi-Chiaravalle, sits on the Schenectady County Community College Board of Trustees.
Mallozzi-Chiaravalle also served on the Schenectady County Industrial Development Agency’s board. She and fellow board member Jim Buhrmaster were replaced by Evan Christou and Catherine Gatta last week. ........................>>>>...................>>>>....................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01404&AppName=1

Guess the DEMS are bracing for the wounds which will be inflicted this upcoming November. Too bad their reign of terror may be ending soon.

Thank God this family didn't leave our County. Every bored would collapse. Can anyone look up nepotism? Absolutely disgusting-another new low for Death Ray and Landslide Savage.

Another great reason to support a return to a Board of Supervisor and abolition of the failed Metrograft experiment. Had enough-YET?

This explains the barrage of nit wit posts about a stunad Swedish buffet.

Best part of the "news story"----"Savage, the legislature chairwoman, did not return calls for comment". Has phone service to the bunker been severed?

The Swedish buffet post had nothing to do with this.  That post was made way back in December -- long beforeI heard that Mr. Mallozzi was going to be recommended for appointment to the Metroplex Board.

At least there won't be any surprises. The same people have been running the county for years and years. They have become predictable.

So don't expect any positive changes.......high taxes, increase in crime, more vacant homes and the same 'chosen few' will reap the benefits!

Can the "chosen few" at least have different last names? Perhaps some crumb could fall down to the oppressed County taxpayers? When the DEMS eat alone-they eat alone. Don't ask them to pass the salt.

New slogan for the County DEMS in 2011! A cannoli on every plate/A Malloozi on every bored.

I guess white men of a certain age, only meant Republican white men of a certain age. Only left wing Spitzerite liberals get on these boreds.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

DV, this is a blatant violation of ethics!!!!!!!!!!   How can you even DARE support a guy sitting on a taxpayer funded board when his business is benefitting by being totally exempt from paying property and school taxes.

Have you ever heard of "ethics"    Are you such an ignoramus that you have failed to hear what the govenor has said, and YES, I DO know that the ethics stuff he's talking about has to do with the executive branch in state govt, but the legislature apparently has also decided to go thru this too.'

Answer, DV, is it ethical for a person to sit on a board when he gives tax exemptions to himself??????

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
