There should be an oversight committee made up of residents, and not hand picked by the politicos, to oversee the metroplex. They clearly need a 'watchdog'.

There should especially be an oversight board to monitor the bidding process for their projects.

Were these projects awarded to the lowest bidder?
Were bids 'tweaked' to guarantee and seal the deal?  

All the Metroplex projects were awarded to the politically connected and their friends.

Benny, Is there a way that citizens can abolish Metroplex or ensure that any oversight committe be made up of residents?

Someone in another thread mentioned a petition with 5,000 signatures was enough to abolish the Plex. Not quite sure if that would do it though. Probably would just end up lining a birdcage somewhere.

Fact is, a Metroplex gold star member is on the County leg and he and his family have taken millions from the fund. Highly doubt the Plex will end when a County Legislator has an open cookie jar.

  When any candidate for Legislature is at your door ask them their views on Metrograft. If they give the usual crock about "renaissance" slam the door. There's never going to be any oversight committee-that's what the County Legislature is for. And they refuse to do anything about Death Ray running amok. In fact they encourage it. BTW a higher debt ceiling for Metrograft is coming because no one repays anything.

     The only way to abolish this vampire is to abolish the Legislature. We must return to a Board of Supervisors. Let all the Supervisors and the new Mayor meet on an unpaid basis to make a budget. We don't need staffers nor clerks. This would save millions and reduce County taxes/sales taxes resulting in new business/job creation.
