the difference is.......Golubs didn't steal. They worked within the 'system'. They did nothing illegal and broke no laws.
the 35 year employee did in fact do something illegal and broke the law.

SCHENECTADY — A former executive secretary for the Golub Corp. left the courtroom in handcuffs Thursday after a judge sentenced her to 1 to 3 years in prison for stealing $313,126 from the company through an employee-rewards program.
Visiting County Judge Richard Giardino said he was confused by the crime because Christina Pagano, 53, had worked at the company that owns Price Chopper for 35 years and was making good money.
But he agreed with Assistant District Attorney Katie Q. McCutcheon that the Schenectady woman was motivated by greed.
McCutcheon told the court Pagano violated the company's trust and that the woman remained remorseless.
