That whole LWV debate was quite contrived. They didn't allow the Republicans to speak and answer questions because the crybaby town democrats/conservatives refused to show. I guess they didn't want FDG drooling all over the microphones.

So, if the Democratic candidates did not show and the Republican candidates were not allowed to speak, there was no debate.

CORRECT! I think the public "wanted" a debate, however it was more of a meet the candidates affair. The public was allowed to ask a question of the candidates, and they had an opportunity to respond, but not address or attack another candidate. It still had value, I can remember one candidate that could barely read off a prepared script, and others were very comfortable and eloquent. It just wasn't what we the public expected of it.
After coaxing Calder to share his plans with the reporters present, Justin Mason told me at the agenda meeting yesterday that Calder confirmed he will in fact run for Supervisor.
I asked FDG in front of Calder if there would be a Primary...FDG said "He's too young for me"...???? I think FDG is done. The only question is who will FDG bankroll??? I've heard he'll finance McGarry...Brian attended FDG's annual Christmas party...but FDG looks much cozier with Calder and Godlewski...and the Kratz in general. Would Brian accept money from a DEMOCRAT operative??? He has always stated that he would never run on the Democrat ballot line...but will he take their money????

Yeah, the public showed, submitted their questions, and the Republicans were not allowed to answer them because the cry-servative FDG and the Dems didn't show. I don't believe it was technically a debate where the candidates addressed each other, but rather a Q&A with the public. It didn't make much sense for the LWV to punish the Republicans willing to answer the public’s questions just because the Cons/Dems CHOSE not to show. It was a joke.

YES, I agree with you as to how it took place. Not every slate of candidates had an opportunity to answer questions if their opponents were no-shows.
