All this "Green" economy stuff comes with its own sets of toxic waste.
Battery production is about as toxic as it gets other than Nukes.
The Florescent light bulbs the gubmet is pushing us to use have Mercury in them. You are NOT supposed to dispose of them in the ordinary trash and the EPA has a multi-page instruction sheet to follow if you happen to shatter one in your home.

All of this 'greenie' stuff will end up costing us and businesses. It always does.
CAP AND TRADE folks!

I was stranded for 15 minutes on Chrysler Ave where it crosses 890 because the police wouldn't let any cars cross the bridge until after the President had passed under the bridge on his way to the Thruway. There wasn't one car on 890 when we finally crossed the bridge so the police must have stopped traffic in both directions while the President was headed to the Thruway.

I hope the Secret Service rounds up the Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity and keeps them safely locked up
until the President is safely on his way back to DC ...   or they could just throw away the key and leave them
locked up.

You are scary.  I wouldn't be to proud of what you just posted.

One generation removed from the Berkeley Free Speech Movement. Local DEM "leaders" quote Spiro Agnew and sound like jackbooted brown shirts. All opposition speech must be crushed-90% of all elected offices are not enough.

Are you just figuring that out???

that is the difference between liberal dem socialists......they wish to do away with and silence anyone who doesn't share their nazi ideology. This is the same technique used against the jews. Scary...isn't it?

The people who respect and support their country, their freedoms, their flag, their military and their God, vote in the candidate that best shares that same ideology. IMHO of course!

Democrat/liberal Dictionary:

Tolerance - accepting speech or actions by an individual or group unless it is in opposition to your own.

BT or should we call you Debbie Downer.  It was a great day to have the President here.  In fact, I was coming out of CREO and saw Airforce One overhead.  It was very exciting.  AS far as GE and all the hype--I am feeling mixed.  GE will never be what it used to be.  Imelt may be somewhat better than Jack Welch but really how much better.  Abu dhabi owns GE and I thought I heard the Chinese holds the note.  So the question I have is "why come to Schenectady?"  I voted for Obama and will again but although this was a great day for Stratton and Schenectadians in the end it doesn't add up.  Hope I am wrong.

Unfortunately I was not one of the lucky winners to gain admission to the president's speech today.

I thought it was decent - although I liked Immelt's more, after Jack literally HATED this city (probably because of Unions)...  It is awesome to see Jeff supporting manufacturing here.  Him comments about Edison and how GE was born here...  Well it was heartening.

The most ridiculous statement President Obama made though...  Is his comment about Mayor Stratton.  OMG even if you think he's a decent Mayor (which I no longer do)...  The over the top praise was - well, way too over the top.

Well Jack would you expect the guest to insult the host in his home?  Get real.  It was a great day for people who live in Schenectady anyway.

As for Spiro Agnew - I never met the man personally - but I did meet some of relatives who ran a bakery in Baltimore's Greek Town.     Their baklava was awesome.

I'd expect him to say something positive about him - but what he said was beyond ridiculous...

And ironic since Obama did not really see a hint of what the Democratic machine has enabled in this city.

You think Schenectady has a Democratic machine.  ROTFLMAO.  I come from Albany.  That's a machine.  When you move there--the committeeman is waiting on your doorstep to greet you.

Stop with the gumba talk.  That is really insulting to those on this board who are Italian.  Would you use similar speech to denigrate those who are Jews or blacks on this board?  And there are both.
