New Year's revelers included a couple of guys pumping at least four shots into the front of a Furman Street residence in the Central State Street Neighborhood. According to overnight police, responding officers and two police dogs tracked down one of the alleged shooters who was packing a loaded 9 mm. The 19-year-old was arrested and charged with criminal possession of an unregistered handgun. There was a drive-by shooting last summer at Furman and nearby Linden Street. Shh, no one is to mention the horrible gang explosion now down to Middle Schools in the City. This is like every problem under the current regime; "Maybe if we look the other way it will go away"? Did you hear Mayor SOS's response? zzzzz It's now so bad drive-by shootings aren't even reported. Common everyday experience in Miracle City.
Just another one of those anomalies. No need to worry, things are as safe as ever.
I don't know if there is a law against driving and shooting in Schenectady, but I know there is a law against driving and texting. As long as they aren't texting while driving, I feel safe. Thank You Susan Savage!
First of all, he just hasn't had the time or money to go down and appropriately register the gun. Give him time and that will happen. Let him go with a warning.
Also, it clearly states his gun was fully loaded when he was picked up. Nobody in Schenectady plans ahead, so don't you think if he emptied his clip he would have needed to head to get more ammo? If the spent cartridge don't fit, you must acquit.
Anyway, why are we even talking about this? If it isn't in the Gazette, then it either didn't happen or happened outside the amazingly amazing City of Schenectady.
ANOTHER MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The safest lowest crime city around! Oh, of course ever city has problems, but we have a democrap renaissance here so LET'S BE POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!! Rah rah! Gooooooo SUE SAVAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh God!
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Honestly Cicero - wasn't that just a little painful to say? I couldn't believe it till I tried saying something like that.
DV has had a profound affect on me. I'm beginning to see the positive in things now-a-days. Instead of looking at the negative of a drive by shooting, I see the positive in that the no texting while driving law passed by the savage democrats is keeping us safe from the truely dangerous behaviors of our citizens - texting - not gun violence. I'm beginning to see the set priorities by our elected leaders as we continue the renaissance.
I'm glad the DEM idiots have their priorities straight. The problem is not out of control gangs and exploding violent crime it's the 16 year old Shen girl texting!
Thank you Landslide Savage and Ang for stamping out this horrible menace to society. Working together works! Working together works!

n 2002, the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis calculated that 2,600 people die each year as a result of using cellphones while driving. They estimated that another 330,000 are injured. (from EdgarSnyder.com/car-accident/cell-phone/statistics.html)
If even 1 life is saved because of the no texting while driving law, I will consider the law a major success.

There may be some "anomalies" in that risk analysis. When I get a chance, I'll have to take a look at it.
Seeing how Schenectady owns New York's number 1 ranking of most residents in prison per capita, I don't think they will be paying much attention to a texting law. We have shootings in the streets, and we're worried about texting drivers? That's a real hard line approach to crime by team Savage. As long as I'm safe from baby bottle chemicals, texting drivers, and I know the calorie count of what I'm eating - things are just peachy. Oh, and I almost forgot, our elderly population has money dedicated to studying salt in food.
I feel real good about the direction Schenectady is going in. Thank You Susan Savage - GREAT JOB!
This is a spin on the broken window theory. Let the big crimes go. Focus on the minor issues like texting, littering and jay walking. That's how you improve quality of life issues that the DEM idiots are always talking about.
Number one in per capita in prison, area unemployment, record gang membership/activity but Landslide Savage and ANG have covered of the biggies- texting ban and multi-modal trails untouched by human feet. Coming next! An unused tourism center at Proctor's and County outdoor movies in sub zero cold!

Even if the waste of resources used to enforce this law to possibly save one life results in 8 murders, and countless assaults and burglaries. That is good ole fashion Democrat logic. People don't go downtown because of the fear of violent criminals, NOT because of distracted drivers.

See .. I knew that you agreed with me ... and I am sure that Ms. Savage appreciates your endorsement, too.
