Director of operations appears close to retiring

BY KATHLEEN MOORE Gazette Reporter
Reach Gazette reporter Kathleen Moore at 395-3120 or moore@dailygazette.com.

The city’s longtime director of operations is thinking about saying goodbye.
Sharon Jordan, who is paid $25 an hour as a city consultant, has been signalling for months that she may be leaving. The City Council doubled the amount of money set aside for her services next year, in case a new director must be hired, and she signed a new contract that allows her to retire at any time.
“I signed up for this job for six months and I’ve been here seven years,” she said, before stressing that she hasn’t made a decision yet.
Jordan was Mayor Brian U. Stratton’s campaign manager and started working at City Hall shortly after he won his first mayoral election. At the time, Stratton said she would likely stay for six months to help him reorganize City Hall.
“And I thanked my lucky stars she was here every day since,” he said. “She’s functioned in every capacity as deputy mayor, she knows the operation inside and out. She is indispensable.”
Jordan runs her own consulting firm, SAJ Consultants. She offi cially retired in 2002 from the Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority, which she led for 16 years. ......................>>>>..................>>>>................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00901&AppName=1

This position is essential so Brian Stratton can get Fridays off. Sounds like she does a lot of work, what does the  mayor do?

NOTHING. Now we know who to blame for the complete implosion of the City and destruction of every neighborhood. This is what happens when you fill key posts with political lobs. SMHA? Another public sector mess filled with incompetents. If you want a good laugh call over to the SMHA and ask a question. After 12 rings and 3 transfers you'll get someone who can't speak English. She maybe going because at the last meeting the idiots on the Council said she is not retiring.

PREDICTION: She retires so she can "consult" at a higher salary. Ms. Jordan will win the formerly prestigious Patroon award. Which under this pathetic Mayor is reserved for DEM partisans only. Formerly, it went across the political spectrum to nonpolitical leaders who served the City.

Stick a fork in this Mayor-he's done. Too many revelations in the past months. His support was always a mile wide and a half inch deep.

I was at a big bash and not one person would support a third term. Not one yellow dog DEM would vote for him again. The only hope for the DEMS is to run someone not currently "serving up the people" on either the City Council or County Leg.

DV, if anyone is the socialist here it's positively YOU - for you want government everything....gtovernment is supposed to provide all services, especially non essential ones, and government i.e., taxpayers, are supposed to fund private business.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

The liberal socialists are regrouping! They know that they are in BIG trouble. Savage and Santabarbara's miserable failure was just the beginning. Stratton's pension padding added insult to injury. Couple that with all of the third party candidates exposing their corruption............is the icing on the liberal socialist's crumbling cake!!!!!

Santabarbara came closer than any other challenger to an incumbent in that district than anyone in about
30 years.    The only challenger to come closer -- was  Gail Schaeffer when she DEFEATED incumbent Arlington
Van Dyke in either 1978 or 1980.

As stated months ago the smart ones are planning their exits. JP and SJ are the first. Many more are following. Wait until they hear the latest news. Independent parties are sprouting up all over. NNTP!

And whomever the City Democrats nominate will win the election in November.   You can run
Roger Rabbit and the Wicked Witch of the East  -- and even a couple of cats ... and maybe a smoke farting
dancing he-she monkey  ---- but it won't change the end result.

Yes they are!
No one will willing vote for another liberals socialist, especially after these third party candidates get done exposing the corruption. And people are tired of waiting for the reps to get their act together. So the INDEPENDENTS will win the day!!

You'se ain't seen nothin' yet!!! Hang on....it's gonna be a hell of a ride.

Free forks for everyone!!!

After the people who caused the problems in the city are gone the people who replace them will be faced with some very hard choices to prevent the city from going bankrupt. There will have to be cuts in the welfare program, public employee jobs, and give away programs that were created by the previous administrations to make jobs for their supporters. The people who have to make those decisions will not make any friends if they get elected.

And so did Ted Danz, but I don't hear you yelling that point out loud and clear... and with the census changing seats, which is more likely to lose his job after redistricting?
