Well we can't actually build a drive-in IN the park .. but near it --- there are some possible locations for a drive-in restaurant in the Junction. It wouldn't necessarily have to be a chain restaurant.
oh .. when I say we .. I mean whoever wants to build the drive in restaurant ... I have my eye on a property in the junction for a retail venture.
Whatever happened to that business you were courting to come to Rotterdam, haven't heard a thing about that in months. You had us all on pins and needles, tee hee! |

Actually, that is none of your business.
Tell me how you know they are a good bank to do business with. Of course it none of my business who you bank with, but I suspect you don't do it with Berkshire. Just because a business is new doesn't mean it is a good place to do business, and if you have no experience with them I don't know how you justify your earlier statement. Your response to my question indicates you are just cheerleading. |

And DVOR- these discussions aren't about personal differences. They are about issues affecting every resident in Rotterdam (myself included). If you put yourself out there as an individual involved in decision-making and local government there is a certain expectation of professional accountability and transparency, which you seem to lack. I can't speak for any other resident or member of this board, but you certainly seem to be a beaurocrat who is brainwashed and seemingly ok with smoke and mirrors.
You are not being honest with us. More importantly you are shortsighted when it comes to the issues that tax-paying residents are dealing with (possibly because you are not one of us)
I do realize this post won't change your take on this situation, but when you are in our shoes (paying actual taxes and being a responsible tax paying adult) please look back at this time and evaluate how you handled this time in your life. |

Berkshire Bank has been around 160 years and all I will say is that due to its proximity to where my father's family lived ... our family has had a "relationship" with the bank. |

I pay taxes --- income, sales, and property tax. and maybe if you stopped listening to the drooling idiots who have been trying to assassinate my character just because I disagreed with them .. you wouldn't make a stupid comment like your last sentence. The FACT is that the old Capitol Homes Plaza was half empty and a mess .... the WalGreens should have been allowed to be built .. that project fell through ... the Recovery Room and the Berkshire Bank will be great businesses in our town --- so to all the naysayers ... stop the whining. |

You really need to get over yourself and stop being so paranoid. I don't know who you are nor do I care. As far as I'm concerned you are nothing more than an anonymous poster like most. If you perceive a post as an 'assassination on your character'...then I guess 'the shoe fits'. But only YOU would know that. I contribute to many forums like this, and this one pales in comparison to most. You need to get out on the net more. Forums are nothing more and nothing less than PERSONAL OPINIONS AND PERCEPTIONS......including yours! As far as the recovery grill gin mill, I hope it works out. I guess the last one did....right? |

I have not made any secret of who I am .... and I use the internet quite a lot -- the best thing about the internet is that one can make a lot of money working from home. As far as personal opinions go --- I love a good debate -- but when certain folks on this site start attacking my family members ... that is uncalled for. Finally, the Recovery Room is a restaurant .. not just a "gin mill" .. I think it will do well and other similar businesses in town will continue to do well -- if they continue to offer good food and good service. A little competition never hurt. |

Not when the taxes you collect pay for your competitors. Collecting sales tax for the county, so politicians can turn around and take away market share so they can grease a political contributor. Brilliant! Only in Gillen-grad |

So true and so what if other family owned gin mills go under. Screw them I'm selling out for some comped hot wings. Speaking of grease when will the TU put a list of machine contributors next to a list of machine recipients? It's rebirth-it's a miracle-it's renaissance-it's Gillengrad! |

You must travel in different circles that you get "comped" when you go out to eat. I pay for my own food. |
