Gadfly,

If you are KR, then I am shocked that you would encourage anyone to make deals.  We voters lose respect when someone backs down because some polcal boss tells them to.  Mr. Mcgarry is getting more popular every day, why?  Because people are talking about him, the papers are already saying he's running on the republican line, local GOP committee is split and there is support for him on the committee, he's way out front on his efforts and mostly because he's not an a$$!

Mr. Mcgarry is a registered Rep, right?  Then the Rep party should wake up and get ready for a primary.  As I said before, I hope the committee does NOT endorse him, he'll easily win the primary.

Who else is running from the Republican party?  ST?????  JS????????  GP??????  How about some other milk toast candidate.  Nobody knows McGarry Zorro.  The only thing he's got going for him is that he lost last time.  Seems ST lost several times before he graced the chambers at Town Hall.

I have encouraged no one to make any deals...it doesn't involve me...I am only stating the way things are.

That's what makes him electable is the fact he isn't a political retread.  That's how FDG won, he was a political neophyte.  I agree with Zorro, Brian needs to get the Rep line through primary not endorsement.  We will soon witness FDG get disposed of by party bosses for not towing the party line.  If Brian accepts an endorsement by party leadership, party leadership will be able to do the same thing to him as they did to Mertz.  Learn from Mertz's mistakes, they only buddy up to you and put their hand around your shoulder so they can eventually stick the knife in your back.

People do NOT think alike. Thank God. However, the politicians and the present two party system wants just that.....everyone to think the same.  If they do, then the 2 major parties can continue to control and manipulate the political process!

That is why BM is a refreshing change that is needed. He is a leader, comes with his own individual personal belief system, while respecting everyone else's.

However, it appears that he is just plain offering himself for public service, with out 'deals'. His approach is so simplistic that the politicos are having a hard time wrapping their brains around it.

From what I've heard and seen, BM just wants to serve the people of rotterdam as their supervisor.......it's just that simple!

He should run for the Town Board - first.  He needs to "get his feet wet" first and learn about town government.    He is one of the few Republicans that I would even consider voting for -- as a Town Council member --  but certainly not for Town Supervisor.

I think you guys are looking at him through rose colored glasses.  FDG won-because people were sick of the Republican administration and because the NNTP were spoilers.  I do not believe he will do as well as you think.   Give him to KR to handle.

That is the point.......rotterdamians don't want candidates to learn 'first hand' about their government. Then it just becomes the 'status quo'. IMHO

People just want to elect an honest person to office that will work for the best interest of the taxpayer.

I don't think KR would get involved with the reps. She is a staunch con. I think buchannan is smart enough to rely on his own committee folks. That's his job.....yes?

And BM is and will do just fine walking to his own drummer.

Well trust me Bumble...no one knows that people don't think alike better than members of the Schenectady County Conservative
Party ! LOL!

I agree that Brian comes with his own belief system...a conservative one...and he'll respect yours...conservative or not, I think.

There's nothing wrong with offering up himself for public service in any manner he sees fit...but it really isn't that simple because
Brian may not be the only candidate interested in the same...and this, IMO, is the reason political figures are not wrapping around
him or anyone else for that matter...others are sure to emerge. In the end, Brian could be the best all-around choice...but we
cannot possibly know that until the complete picture is in view...and as much as I like Brian, I would never simply assume that
will be the case.

Finally, I also believe that Brian truly wants to serve the people...but I also know that can be done in a number of capacities...it
doesn't necessarily have to be one title or another for one to be effective.

We have seen more progress in the past 12 months than we have seen in many years.

McGarry is not ready to be Town Supervisor.  He was not very effective on the Rotterdam IDA.  Just shouting "no new taxes" is not enough.    He does not have a clue how to attract good economic development nor how
to lower spending nor how to cut taxes.
