Replacing the lone REP with another DEM and the Gazetto editors don't know how this is affects the balance of power? Give us a break. One party rule does not encourage dissent nor the ever popular "transparency". Even in Rotterdam.

Of course they should meet twice a month but if the City DEMS can get away with a "holiday schedule" why not the town? Don't remember the Gazetto ever opposing that and even Rev Grimsby thought it was a "good idea".

That goes BOTH ways DVR.  When you have a member of the "team" giving the opposition the playbook the owner of the team loses trust.  Can you blame em???

The problem with your analogy is that the "owner of the team" is  NOT one or two members of the board or the
administration -- the OWNERS of the team are the voters and residents of the Town.  EVERY member of the
Town Board should be working FOR US.

Secondly, the "playbook" needs to be worked on and developed by ALL of the Town Board members NOT just one or two members.

For all of the political differences that I may have with Mr. Parisi, the fact is whether I liked it or not ..he was
a duly appointed member of the Town Board ... and like EVERY member of the Town Board was (and is until
the end of his term) entitled to be respected as an equal member of the team -- and fully brought into the
loop on EVERY issue brought before the Town Board.

I took some heat because I thanked Mr. Parisi for his service to the town at the last Town Board meeting.
But the fact is - despite my personal views on how he conducted himself in regards to specific issues and
despite our political differences .. the fact remains that he at least deserved the courtesy of having his
public service recognized at what will probably be his last public meeting as a member of the board.

Who is the opposition to the Town Board?  The residents?  Am I reading this correctly?

DVR- Parisi put you on the map by his unconventional campaign logic and political strategy last year.  Put Matt, Nikk,i Bob, and Frank on the map.  No wonder you thank him.  He made you relevant.

The "owner" and CFO is FDG. He runs the Town as he see's fit.  Don't like it CHOP OFF HIS HEAD.  Until then buck up and support the man who put the Dems back in control.  Don't like it ---QUIT the party!!!!!!!

Just by virtue of being a citizen, I was relevant LONG before Mr. Parisi came along.

As much as I like Mr. Del Gallo ... the OWNERS of the town are the residents.   The Supervisor is
1 of 5 members of the Town Board .. and we residents ELECTED every one of them.   And it doesn't
matter what political party that they belong to  ...  elected officials WORK  FOR US .. not the other
way around.

I have supported Supervisor Del Gallo since the day he began his campaign.   So don't confuse
disagreeing on a few issues as being a lack of support or some sign of disloyalty.

I have NO intention of quitting the party .. and I will support my party's nominees for elective
office next year.

Considering - you hide behind a screen name .. I can't say anything for your allegiance to anything.

I have a suspicion of who you are .. and if I am correct .. I would say that you have little allegiance
to anyone but your own self interest.

As for my loyalty and allegiance,  I have ALWAYS been there for fundraisers, working on the
campaign trail, etc.   I have bent over backwards to help out when asked.    I have also kept my mouth shut -- at times out of respect for the supervisor and other members of the town board.
How was I repayed for that ...  by having it shoved up my a** .. when I was asked to help out in the Town Clerk's Office and then left hanging out on a limb when there was some resistance.

Make no mistake about this .. I will ALWAYS be willing to help out my town ... and I don't expect
anything for that.     Secondarily, I will ALWAYS be willing to help out my party .. and I don't
expect anything for that either.   But I won't sell out my principles for either .. and certainly not
for any other individual.

Before you criticize anyone for "hiding" behind a screen name - perhaps you should register as a new user, using your own name, if you're that much a proponent of it - put your true feelings behind your true name. Or are you not man enough to do that?

Let's be honest here.......fdg is way out of his league as a supervisor. For a businessman, he is a very weak leader. And although I agree with dvr that they ALL work for the electorate, I also agree with raspy that fdg is the head of this horse. Although he isn't acting 'leadershippy'.

There should be 2 meetings a month! imho

DVR. I wouldn't know you if I tripped over you. Some guy named Ronny. You live in the jct and you eat junk food by the lbs. Thanking a guy who ridiculed you and your party on this forum has all of us scratching our heads. My interests are the polka, pink Cadillacs, mass every morning and the rosary before bed. Perhaps you are a little too thin skinned for the rough and tumble Rotterdam Politics?

Very bitter over the EE situation perhaps?  Or is it the Rems vote?  Let it go Mr Chump.

I never lived in the junction ... and I don't eat any kind of food by the pound (let alone "junk food").

You can scratch your head all you want, but I come from an extended family with a lot of persons who
have held public office and have known many family acquaintances who have held public office .. about
half were Republican and half were Democrat.  My view of any person who holds public office is this -- I may
not personally like them or agree with their positions or their behavior .. but I appreciate that they stepped
up and made an effort to serve the public.
So for those who don't like that I thanked Mr. Parisi ... too bad .. that is how I felt and I don't apologize
for it.

While this is true (except for the appointment of Mr. Parisi), the fact is that until January 1, there is only ONE person who sits on the board that was elected by a majority of the townspeople.  That would be Ms. DiLeva.  Not one other person sitting on that board (with the previously stated exception of Mr. Calder once 1/1 comes) was elected by a majority.

I believe ALL of the council members bear the responsibility to become  more transparent.  Some of the
tactics employed during the past 11 1/2 months would NOT have been necessary if there had been
more openness and better communications from Day #1.

I agree.  I just wonder, if they cut the schedule to 1 meeting a month (which is the normal schedule for July and August ONLY), then it will reduce the amount that the people can speak their minds, and after the marathon meetings we had this year, it is evident that the people have much to say and are paying attention.  If the board doesn't want to be in town hall so many hours, they can reduce their salaries in the budget or not run for office.  As for the fact that they are already elected, maybe if they're going to be meeting less, they should also be paid less.
