Apparently MT must love kool-aid as  he-she is always referring to it,
Of course those  like MT who are far-right wing totalitarians drink vinegar every day
that is what keeps their dispositions so sour.

As the Schenectady Renaissance begins to move down Lower State and along Erie Blvd  --- I am excited
about the future of our great county.

Happy Days are here again.

Was it a happy day at KFC  on your lower State St last week when a guy with a gun went in there at dinner time and threated their lives???????    Huh????????????????????

I don't know whether to puke, scream, laugh or just have pity on DVOR after that post. Some combination of all would be the normal reaction of a sensitive person.

Pass the kool-aid on the left hand side! And do what with the Y? Death Ray rants and raves about new retail, a retail mecca at Robinson {now Gillen's crater} and renaissance. Nothing happens. They need to open another gin mill below Erie and say "it is finished"!

How anyone could cheer giving another hand out to SCCC is beyond me. Death Ray should be thrown of the SCCC bored for this outrage. Meanwhile what about the Armory? Maybe SCCC can buy it for a big dollar. The going rate Downtown. The only silver lining is that Y housing will be closed-something Stockade residents wanted for decades.

The fact is that the plex was designed to create good paying jobs and lower property taxes.

The fact is that the plex has created a county that has the highest property tax rate in the state and the 19th highest in the country!!

They have not 'created' jobs.........they just 'relocated' them from one end of the county to another and lavished them with a tax exempt status!!! All at the taxpayer's expense!

The failure of the plex was clearly exposed during savages's run in the last election. She failed miserably just like her metroplex.

The first candidate that campaigns on desolving the metroplex will get my vote and support. It's too corrupt to turn things around now.

Metroplex has been the keystone to Schenectady County's renaissance .. and should be broadened.

If the Metroplex's goal was to broaden our tax base to improve our city outlook and reduce homeowner taxes and improve the overall state of our city with the revenues the new tax base has brought in...

Then it has failed miserably.

(I don't have time to go find their mission statement, I'm kinda just assuming it was something along those lines?)

I do love the movie theater though.  But I haven't gone their in a long while to be honest.

I think the hotel is doing really nice business - I have a number of co-workers staying there when they come from out of town.

So no doubt I have liked some of the things they have done, but to me - they have failed miserably at improving the tax situation.

I agree.  I would like one person, especially a proponent of the Metroplex, to name me one place where there has been Metroplex money spent that actually pays more taxes than they did previously.  In fact, I think you'd have a hard time finding a place that received Metroplex money that pays ANY taxes now to reduce the property owner's taxes.

Well, here's your chance DV.   Show us the places that pay more taxes now.  Come on.    Well, we are waiting.

How much does Mallozzi's pay?????   How much taxes does Proctor's pay?????   How much does the Hampton pay?????    How much taxes does the hair do school pay?????    How much does 440 pay?????    How much does Bomber get in a refund (150% tax exemption).  How much does Marcella's pay?   Etc ETc.

And tell us, DV, what happened to the taxes of the financially struggling residential homeowners???????    Can you answer that or are you too embarrassed to tell the truth????

As the Schenectady-Metroplex Miracle remade  State Street between Erie Blvd and Nott Terrace  --- it
is now poised to remake lower State Street and all of Erie Blvd.

Keep up the great work.

What's the answer to Kevin's question??????????    HUh??????   Come on, YOU are the one who has said you want "intelligent" discussions here.  This is a very HIGHLY intelligent question and you refuse to answer.

What is the miracle of the taxes?

That first block of State Street -- where the old YMCA building -- is a great place for Metroplex to invest
in a redevelopment project.  That is the gateway to the city.

I am looking forward to seeing what specific plans Metroplex comes up with for that block.

You're leading a parade with no one following. You say it's a plan then admit you don't know what it is.

If Metrograft "leaders" brought in a corporation (from outside the County) and put the property at full assessment back on City tax rolls than BRAVO! Look for another Bethesda House parking lot/Gillette House ripoff. With the payment of $1 by SCCC for the unneeded dorms. $1 is the going rate for property Downtown with many Metrograft "miracles".
