When people start claiming "finest easting establishment" I have to chime in. Then you know it is a quid pro quo to the patron of the left wing in town. |
| "While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat." |

To the last 3 posts -- I give a Bronx cheer -- I don't need a "quid pro quo" to give compliments to any one. Mallozzi's has always provided me and my family and friends with good food and great service. It is the finest banquet facility in town. My family also enjoys and patronizes Top's, Bellevue Cafe, McClain's and the Center Stage Deli. Those are our recommended eating establishments in the Town of Rotterdam.
The rest of you folks can go wherever you like.

Anthony's in Rotterdam Junction is also very good. Need to get back there someday soon.
As far as the previously mentioned restaurant on Mariaville Rd, I will keep my opinion of that place to myself. |

DVR--no problem with the Mallozi family--Their bakery is very good but the restaurant is not my cup of tea and they have not in the past cut a break for a non-profit residing in the town...Reps btw who wanted to do business in the town and went there. As a result, off to Scotia fosr a better deal.
My biggest gripe is that the service is not fine service. Allowing a bus boy to push a pail of soapy water through the dining room is inexcusable. They do the same thing at the Pancake Man in Yarmouth--but at least you're on the Cape there. This is not done in places of higher quality. Maybe I am just a snob. Sorry. |

Must have been an isolated incident. I have never seen a busboy push a pail of soapy water through the dining room. The service has always been exceptional -- whenever I have been there. Cape Cod is ok -- but it is not my favorite place along the coast ... i prefer the Maine coast and the Connecticut-Rhode Island coast. My family has had over 350 years association with the Rhode Island coast. |

I have never heard anyone run down Canali's food. Never in the 20 years I have gone there. This is amazing and shows how ignorant and how low you are on the scale of humanity, John. |

I have seen the bus boy "push" several times INCLUDING the big Dem party after FDG was elected. Sorry--admittedly a snob. And btw--can't beat the Cape! |

when I think of dinning in rotterdam, Mallozzi's does not come to mind. However, I think it is an excellent banquet venue. I have attended many occasions at Mallozzi's and they were all high quality food and service. People who have had their banquets there, have given high reviews. I look at Mallozzi's as a fine banquet hall but not as a restaurant.
I have dined at Canali's more times than I can remember and their food is consistently good. The place is packed almost every night it is open and reservations are usually needed. I have also been there for catered occasions, and they also were very good!
Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges. They both have their nitch and they are both good at what they offer. IMHO of course.

Correct--when I think of fine dining it is not Mallozzi's. I have hosted several huge events in the past five years--none at Mallozzis. Excellent food and choice of venue is Saratoga National, the Gideon, and always Albany Country Club. RE: Saratoga Naational--last event I attended there was not as good as it used to be. But all three places offer white glove service.

I prefer to keep any banquet or large events local. Mallozzi's is great. The best place for a very large function is the Polish Community Center - we put on a great banquet there on the occasion of Cardinal Maida's visit in August 2010. The Polish Community Center can seat 500 for dinner and you still have a full dance floor. We actually had almost 600 seated for the 100th Anniversary Banquet for the Church of Saint Adalbert in 2003.
You folks are welcome to go to the "place on Mariaville Road" instead of Mallozzi's -- but I think that Mallozzi's is hands down the best eatery in town. |

Once again if you are looking for really good Ialian food, Tesoro's in Guilderland, Katrinella's in Albany, LoPorto's in Troy. Mallozzi's is average fare at best. The bakery is great. |

It is much better to spend money in town .. and Mallozzi's is way above average .. if not the best. |
