I'm sorry, but I believe I asked MC a question.....if you would like to answer for them because you know the answer, that would be great.  Otherwise your reply was uncalled for and just fuels the fire between you and someone else.  In business we refer to that as NON VALUE ADD.  My question remains, and it's not a sarcastic question, I honestly want t oknow.

For the record, this thread was created to point out that Mallozzi's is offering a Swedish Christmas
Smorgasbord on Sunday, December 19.    I posted it because I am part Scandinavian and was happy to
see that the cuisine of part of my ancestors is being promoted.  It was NOT intended to be a political issue.

I think it is cool that a great eating establishment well-renown for its Italian Cuisine is offering
up cuisine from other ethnic groups.

AGREED...except, you quoted my question and didn't reply to my question.  Normal courtesy is if you quote someone you are replying directly to their point (as I am doing here).  I guess it's just a pet peeve of mine that when I ask a question or commment, and someone replies directly to that, I make the fair assumption that they are on topic for that specific item.  So again, just to be clear, I agree with you, it's a public website and anyone can respond to any post....you did not follow your own rule...you didn't respond to my post.

To further clarify matters, your post had nothing to do with the actual thread.  The topic is the
Swedish Christmas Smorgasbord and NOT  MC's incessant whining about Metroplex.

To further clarify matters, you violate your own guidance...yours posts 8,14,22 and 30 had nothing to do with the actual thread, either.  Guess you like to make up rules as you go along to try and benfit you!

With that said, back on topic....I LOVE MALLOZZI's FOOD !!!!!!

Grat baked goods.  The rest is only mediocre at best.  Place still looks like a school--service is unimpressive as is the food.  Also do not find them "community" minded.  Many organizations took their business out of Town to angelo despite the fact that they were town based organizations.  I always believe in doing business local--but they have to make that a possibility for you.

I think the food at Mallozzi's is much better than at Glen Sanders.   And I have found their service to be
quite good.   As for being "community minded", they have always come through for me when I or anyone
from the organizations that I am involved with have asked anything of them.

The 2nd best place in the county for  Italian cuisine -- is the new Dolce Vita on upper State Street.
The best place is still Mallozzi's.

The baked goods are also-meeh. For better baked goods-without the taxpayer handout-try Mt Pleasant Bakery on historic Crane St. This is the go to place for babka and Christmas cookies.

BTW-herring-yuck! This whole thread reads like an unpaid ad. We all know they are the official DEM caterer so stop the blarney. Who wants herring for breakfast in this town? If they were smart they would do an Italiano brunch. Pass me the sausage and peppers.

Actually,  herring for breakfast is pretty good.

Mont Pleasant Bakery is a good place to get babka  ..  I also patronize Golden Crust in Cohoes
and Schuyler Bakery in Watervliet.

  MC's incessant whining about Metroplex.

What, you want the taxpayer handouts kept a secret?   It's off topic on this thread by the analogy is proper......payments to REMS were probably quietly tucked in the budget, average people don't scrutinize a budget with a fine tooth comb, all this stuff comes out, now that people understand what there taxes are going to and WASTEFULLY SO, they voted a resounding NO.

If the common, financially struggling people knew that Metroplex has gone from it's original intention of funding via sales taxe to the Savage/Gillen/Stratton model  of using the sales tax AND ON TOP OF THAT totally exempting the newer projects from paying ANY property and school taxes (and based on official records it is NOT a temporary exemtpion) and in order to recoup the loss, this team chooses to jack up said taxes of the homwoners by making them pay much higher property and school taxes of these very very wealthy businesses downtown.

It is an absolute necessity to constantly present these financial facts.  New people to this board need to be informed (and may not go back in time to read messages) and in so doing, the facts need to be given to all those in the city who struggle, because I've mentioned this to so many people in the city and they were not aware that downtown is exempt from property taxes.

Metroplex was intended to incrase the tax base in the city.  While the assessments have dramatically increased on the properties (because they are new), the property taxes have been totally removed, so the ONLY thing this current team has done is provide taxpayer handouts to the wealthy downtown properties and cause a MAJOR decline in the city.

A certain  he-she needs to take a "chill pill" and make an effort to find something in life
to enjoy.

I happen to enjoy good ethnic food  .. from all different ethnic groups.  It makes life more fun.

I like lots of foods too.  Do you like millionaires taking tax dollars from financially struggling people?

DV, how about business stands on it's own two feet without taxpayers having to foot the bill.

Many people would like to enjoy things too, but in Schenectady there is not much for those people to enjoy because they have no money, they are paying for the property taxes of the rich Mallozzi family....is that proper?  Is it -proper that people have to go without enjoyment in life because they have to fork over their hard earned money to millonaires?

The food at Mallozzi's was awesome as usual.   We are truly blessed to have such a great
family running the banquet house in Rotterdam and the bakery downtown  .. and don't forget
the food they serve at the Italian Community Center on Washington Ave  (IMHO - the Italian Community
Center is SECOND only to the Polish Community Center for its food) .... and one of these days I will get
to the Brown Derby (but I hear from others that it is great there, too)
