If the rotterdam reps embrace the nntp, does that include mertzie even though TD stated that 'he is not welcome'?

So is mertzie welcome or not? He is a rotterdam rep after all.......right? Have you changed your stand on that ms. donovan?

JM must have been in measuring the drapes for his new office. I guess this is what the DEMS mean by circling the wagons-lol-This may also explain her public meltdown.

Mending fences is a good thing and I applaud Tracy's efforts.  We need good, viable candidates.  I'm not sure a show down between Steve and Bob is what the party or this town needs.  Although, it might be entertaining.

What we need is a new face with no axes to grind that can carry the message of conservatism.

There may be a lot of interest and names floating about.  Bottom line it takes fire in the belly and lots of $$.  There may be a lot of good people interested, but if you can't throw in a good chunk of your own money, you may not get the endorsement of the party leadership.  It costs lots of money to run a campaign.

We've had 11 months testing that experiment on the Town Board.  These monkey's are un-trainable.  It's more like a barrel of monkeys.

You went to Siena?  You obviously meant "do" a better job.  As for the trained monkeys, they obviously didn't think they could train you!  But you kinda do fit in with the monkeys flying around town hall right now.

This is soooooooo not true. In rotterdam, mcgarry did his own fundraising and his own campaigning! Without a major party backing, and for being his first time 'out'.......he garnered an impressive 20% of the electorate. IT CAN BE DONE!!!

The article is inaccurate in stating that the two sides met.  My understanding is that Brian McGarry was invited by Tracey to meet with
her and about 1/2 dozen other Republicans in response to a letter written by him requesting an interview for the town Republican party
endorsement for Town Supervisor.  I understand from speaking with Brian that he will be making similar requests of the party
chairpersons of the Conservative and Independence parties.

While (at least some of) the other founders of the NNTP movement would welcome an opportunity to meet with the town and county
Republican party leaders, there is no agreement.  The plan to form a county-wide independent ballot line that embraces candidates
who possess right of center values and ideals, particularly in regards to spending and taxation, is being discussed.  Dialogue with
potential candidates is occurring.   Interested individuals are encouraged to contact me by e-Mail at blittlefield@nycap.rr.com.

Although I no longer reside in Schenectady County, I have offered my full support and that of many of my like minded friends and
family to support conservative candidates to wrest control of county, town, and city offices from the liberal tax and spend Democrats.
A fundraiser for Brian McGarry is being planned for late January.

Just for some clarity Brad. No letter has been written thus far. Brian called me looking to join our party as a registered republican and expressed interest in running for supervisor. I met with him privately and suggested and actually asked him to meet with the candidates that he hurt the most in the 2009 election. The reason being a) they are still a very important part of our committee B) without their approval we can not move forward
We need to all work together now. So basically, the meeting was to re-unite people and mend fences. I feel it was a positive meeting, unlike how the article in the TU described it.

Does Marv (or even the local Republican Party) know that the NNTP was actually formed by 4 guys? LOL!  Brian carries on the brand but that doesn’t mean the other 3 guys have died!  If I was running the Republican effort, I’d make sure I knew what all of them were intending but maybe only Brian is viewed as a future threat to their plans?

Either approach is flawed though and represents a major tactical error.  They need to address their platform philosophy and get it where most Republicans would like to see it, not 1 or even 4 guys that mucked it up for them the last time.  What if someone else entirely gets inspired and runs independently?  Oh yeah, I forgot…independent runs are impossible…LOL!

For the record, no one invited me to any sort of joint reconciliatory meeting.
Maybe they couldn’t find me down that groundhog hole???   Still ROTFLMAO

Brian may represent what’s left of the NNTP brand, but with 3 of the other very capable guys unaccounted for, it’s way premature to be coming to conclusions about jubilant reconciliations, no?  Editors note:  The rock band Black Sabbath reformed quite successfully without Ozzy and called themselves Heaven &Hell.

At this point, I’d be curious as to exactly where each party actually buried their hatchet – lol!

First......can you explain exactly WHO Mr. McGarry hurt? McGarry was and still is just your average 'John Q Public'. Just a regular citizen.....and a staunch conservative at that. Someone in rotterdam who had the desire to make things better for the taxpayers. I'm sure you would agree ms. donovan, that this mind thought could not possibly hurt anyone. Agree?

It appears that the only thing that got 'hurt' (in your words) here were over inflated rep egos. The rotterdam reps need to get over themselves and deflate their egos.

Second......is mertzie still 'not welcomed' in the rotterdam rep circle as you posted here earlier?

I heard not a voice was raised and not a bit of insult was thrown about. Brian is apparently looking to run for office as a Republican and wants the backing of the party and is willing to work with the republican party from what I hear. I also think the party is all ears, at least that is the rumor on the street, or else there would have been a curt "no" to his request to talk. I think the closed minds are not seeing that many hands make light work. And although all the special interests may back the democraps, interested conservative voters may unify to beat this crew and chase them out of town hall. The last I checked there was not a litmus test on one issue that would allow someone to be a Republican and even conservatives can disagree on some things without being disagreeable.
