Report: U.S. Plans End of Afghan Combat by 2014
Published November 15, 2010 | FoxNews.com

The Obama administration reportedly has developed a plan to begin transferring security in some areas of Afghanistan to the country's forces over the next 18 to 24 months, with a goal of ending U.S. combat missions there by 2014.

The four-year plan to wind down U.S. and allied fighting in Afghanistan will be presented to a NATO summit meeting in Lisbon later this week and "reflects the most concrete vision for transition in Afghanistan assembled by civilian and military officials since President Obama took office last year," The New York Times reported late Sunday.................>>>>.....................>>>>.................http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/11/15/report-plan-end-afghan-combat/

Just like all the combat troops were going to be pulled out of Iraq the day he got into office, which was then postponed to this past August, where he only renamed the groups that the troops were in.  Yeah, OK, I believe it.

Semantics... the key word is COMBAT
There are STILL US troops in IRAQ. make NO mistake.
If a mother of a "non-combat" soldier becomes a gold star mother because an IED kills her child, what the F%^K difference does it make?

The previous mission of US troops in Iraq was offensive... seeking out the enemy and destroying him.  Today the mission is much like UN Forces when they are posted in a war zone after a peace agreement... Defensive.
When an American is killed in a war zone it makes little difference to his family if he was killed looking for non-existent WMD'S, or as a defensive force.
The less offensive operations that US troops are involved in, the lower the US casualties... which is the whole point until we finally disengage.

It is like saying " The police department will call its men off the streets at midnight and send them all home until further notice." Very brilliant. Certainly by midnight the crime will be eliminated.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
