Hello?!? Is this thing on?!? They could have halved the amount of fund balance they relied on by cutting Eunice Esposito's salary down to what it should be: ZERO. I don't care how many years of 'service' she's put in. Yet people fawn over her like removing her salary would be a personal insult to God...I find it incredible that people are freaking out about an ambulance tax, yet their perfectly willing to pump almost $100,000 into the Town Clerk's office for a lady who is physically and mentally incapable of doing the job! Can some ask why nothing has been said/written/publicized about this during this whole budget debacle? Taxpayers are ALREADY giving Eunice a nice pension to sit in Florida. Why must they give her $50,000 on top of it? I'm no big fan of the assessor or anything, but at least he shows up to work on most days and stays there 8 hours. When was the last time 'the first lady' did that? And then riddle me this: When was the last time 'the first lady' was able to do anything other than answer the phone and shoot the breeze with old-timers? Jeeze...Talk about the blind leading the blinder.
DVOR - I'd be willing to cut the admin some slack had they not spent the first few months of office throwing money around like there was plenty of it. It's the same hen house, just a different wolf raiding it. |

rotterdam's supervisor, FDG, made it very clear, and for the record, that Eunie could work ONE day a year if she pleased! I honestly don't think they can shrink the salaries of either Eunie (an elected position) or the assessor (under contract) legally! What does rotterdam's town attorney do any way??? |

One is elected.............and one is under legal contract. I just don't think it's that simple..............especially in rotterdam!! |

I never asked you or anyone to cut anyone any slack. The FACT is that John Paolino had a 5 year plan - Tomassone couldn't be bothered with planning or fiscal prudence and spent down the balance fund - Parisi sat there on Wednesday acting ignorant to his role in the last administration's setting the stage for the fiscal nightmare in Rotterdam. I question your statement that the current administration "threw money around". And, I do question why ALL 5 members of the Town Board were not called in from Day #1 - January 1, 2010 onward to work together to craft a 5 Year Fiscal Plan and the 2011 budget. |

Sorry DVR but rotterdam's present bunch campaigned on knowing 'everything' they had facing them. They were going to 'hit the ground running'..........remember?
And let's not forget rotterdam's #1 ASSet........BG! He foiled for just about everything there was to foil for in rotterdam. BG has failed rotterdam miserably with his promises of grander.
Perhaps the last rotterdam administration made their errors...........but it's a little to late in the game to pass blame! IMHO of course! |

Actually -- the case was made during the campaign about the poor way the Republicans ran Town Hall for 4 years ... and it would have been helpful if someone had splashed the cold water of truth on Mr. Parisi while he was grandstanding and posturing for votes. And I don't dispute that some mistakes were made since January 1, 2010 .. up to and including the way the final debate and vote on the budget was handled. |

The FACT is that John Paolino had a 5 year plan...
You constantly quote the past, dress with clothes from the past and appear to live in the past. We are here in the present. You should be here with us Ronnie Boy. I didn't hear FDG (aka Heartattack Hal) and Bobby G. (aka Hitler) bring to the table any five year plan. They brought just a lot of vengence with cutting employees, calling other town board members names and questioning their ethics. FDG you may be here for one more year, however, we as residents are counting down the days till you and Bobby G. are a part of Ronnie Severson's history lesson. |
