You can say that again ! DiLeva, Parisi and Martin ditched FDG and Godlewski's budget that would have raised taxes over 11% and submitted another with a net tax increae of 3%...and everyone kept their jobs. FDG kept calling DiLeva a liar...it was despicable. Godlewski of course tried to be a condescending know-it-all, but only managed to be a hypocrite...which Parisi rightfully pointed out when the Board was asked to vote on an item that was proposed right then and there after criticizing DiLeva et al for proposing an amended budget he and FDG did not see before tonight. How's it feel???!!! For the record, Ms DiLeva continually requested department heads to be involved in the budget process but was never accomodated...so she did it on her own...and then spent countless hours with Parisi and Martin to come up with the budget that was passed tonight. Oh and by the way, the "Confidential" Secretary to the Supervisor will now be making considerably less money - lol! The Board went back into executive session ...the second was related to the Assessor's job...and the resulting resolution was one that authorizes the Supervisor to enter into an agreement with Surprise...I think they are going to offer him a severence package to get rid of him. |

ROTTERDAM Board slashes budget BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter
Rotterdam’s projected residential tax increase was nearly slashed in half Wednesday after a multi-party coalition of Town Board members pushed through a last-minute package of changes to Supervisor Frank Del Gallo’s preliminary budget. Conservative Nicola DiLeva, Republican Gerard Parisi and Democrat Matt Martin trimmed roughly $191,000 from Del Gallo’s spending plan, introduced an additional $100,000 of fund balance and projected another $100,000 in revenue to help reduce the residential tax increase from 7.4 percent to 3.6 percent. The tax rate increase for commercial property owners was reduced from 11.4 percent to 7.4 percent during Wednesday’s meeting, which lasted more than three hours. The changes also restored funding for three positions that were slated for elimination. In addition, the budget amendments introduced by the three board members raise and lower several spending projections to follow fi gures from previous years. “We saw the trends,” DiLeva said while explaining the changes. “We went through the last three budgets.” The coalition’s changes visibly rankled Del Gallo, who voted against the package of amendments to his budget. He said eleventhhour changes to the budget hadn’t been properly vetted and continued on a path of fund balance borrowing that would ultimately harm the town. “If I was to run my business this way, I’d probably be broke next year,” he said. Likewise, Deputy Supervisor Robert Godlewski voted against the amendments. He said he didn’t support a reduction in town attorney fees, the additional fund balance spending or the projected revenue, which is estimated to come from the town billing for its paramedic service through its ambulance provider. “You’re digging your hole deeper,” he said. The meeting was characterized by verbal sparring that pitted the Conservative supervisor and his Democratic deputy against the other three board members. The discussion became heated at times, with the two sides trading barbs to the amazement of the crowd gathered for the meeting. ...................>>>>..................>>>>.................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01103&AppName=1

Here you have THREE rotterdam people from different political parties..........now THAT is what I call 'WORKING TOGETHER!However, going about it this way clearly was denying the rotterdam electorate to have time to review and digest and ask questions regarding the budget! It should have really been tabled and a special public meeting should have been scheduled for next week. But again.........this is how rotterdam governs!! |

That video will never see the light of day. County Attorney and heart-attack on a stick Chris Gardner will, in contravention of federal law- order it squelched by the SACC cronies who tyrannize us at the publicly finded TV outlet. |
| "While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat." |

I want a copy, as I didn't expect all the fun there last night and I had a previous engagement. Thanks to the "3 Musketeers" for fighting for the people. Little do the Supervisor and his sidekick realize what the fund balance is... previously paid taxes that are being held, waiting to be spent. When you save for a dark time, then you get to a dark time and are looking for darker, that is the time you need to turn and start looking for the light. |
