I know some of you asked for an update. At this time there has been no interest is sponsorship from local businesses. I'm still looking so if anyone owns a business or knows of a business that would be interested please let me know.
Thanks again. |

Don't forget to try Chazen Engineering in the Rotterdam Planning Department and Santabarbara's Cheese Factory in Angelo's kitchen.

I'm so getting tired of you bringing up Buchanan's name. Same question, every day.
We know it's an issue, thanks. |

Why does every. single. post. turn into a debate here? If my daughter had knocked on your door to ask for sponsorship or to collect bottles or to sell cookies or the like, would you all reply in the manor you are replying here? It's really very sad. I suppose when you are hiding behind a computer screen it is easy to be rude, I however am just a mom turning to the community I live in to help out a local team. I not a politician, I'm a parent. Thank you so much to those that have sent me private messages. I really do appreciate the support. This is what a community should be like. Support our children and try and work together. It's okay to not be able to sponsor her team. Trust me, I KNOW times are tough right now. A simple, I'm sorry, I can't help, but good luck to your daughter would be nice. This back and forth political stuff is ridiculous. I see now that this was not the right place to look for support. Again, THANK YOU to all who have wished her good luck and had suggestions for us. |

KD,
I can imagine it would be difficult to find sponsorship in the economy to begin with. However, a few things make this particular type of sponsorship even more difficult to obtain, for you or a a thirty-year resident.
-The dance company is a for-profit, private business. You pay for your kids to attend classes and participate in events there. They then ask you to RAISE money for events. It's almost like double dipping on their part.
-These type of sponsorships essentially only benefit one community resident. Businesses are typically more inclined to work with non-profit, volunteer or community organizations that benefit the community as a whole.
I would recommend talking with the private, for-profit dance company and asking them to restructure their funding streams for these types of competitions.
Good luck to you! |

Just so we are clear here, the dance studio gets NO money out of the the sponsorship. ZERO. NONE. All of the fundraising goes to us parents to pay for competition fees/costumes/travel. There is no "double dipping" going on. This group is a group of kids that were selected to dance at a competitive level from the dance studio that they take regular classes with. The studio is NOT profiting from them fundraising. This is Just a group of great kids looking for some local support from THEIR community. If you don't want to participate in helping them you do not have to! But to come on here and try and tell me that the studio is "double dipping" is not only inaccurate, but also insulting to not only the studio, but to myself and my child.
Again. Thank you to everyone that has helped.
And an updated on my daugther's sponsors. She actually has 2 now! Both from Rotterdam. Thank you so much McGarry Photography and The NEW Recovery sports bar and grill for the incredibly GENEROUS donations to the team. When you visit the new restaurant, be on the look out of the kids dance team picture! They will be displaying on the wall! We are VERY grateful! The kids first competition is January 9th at the Times Union Center. This is a first for these kids and they have worked very hard. |

I wish I could just deleted this now. I don't want anyone to think that this is something bad and that it doesn't benefit the kids 100%. |
