SCHENECTADY -- City police were on the scene early Monday of an apparent home invasion in which shots were fired.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight at a residence in the 100 block of Paulding Street. There were no immediate reports of any gunshot victims, although police broadcast reports indicated one man was treated for an ankle injury suffered when he jumped through a first-floor window during the commotion.

Details were scarce and still developing, but police said they are looking for as many as three men wearing black hoodies and face masks. They were last seen running down Paulding and getting into a car which sped off eastbound down Eastern Avenue.

There were unconfirmed reports that several shots were fired from a handgun and that a child was inside the home at the time, but was not injured.

Police were combing the area in search of the suspects.

Cool - that makes one murderer, another shooter, unexplained explosions, home invasions and God only knows what else.  But have no fear, they're investigating.

Feel safer yet?

Feeling like Schenectady is "better off" and doing well?

Feeling like Schenectady is a nice safe place to live?

Tell us Ron, how nice Schenectady is.  Tell us how things are improving thanks to Savage.  Comon we really wanna hear it.

Another neighborhood in complete free fall. Everything MT listed is true and that is before horrible Mayor SOS's public safety cuts. But don't fret he has another new plan-raise record City property taxes "only" 6%-Stiff the City Schools (so they can hike school taxes-AGAIN) and screw the County. Yeah! Working together!

Eastern Ave Hill is another Hamilton Hill. The militant neglect of the City by Mayor SOS and the all DEM rubber stamps is a disgrace. How anyone moron fall for the working together crew again is beyond me. Throw the bums out!

Was this the same area where a woman shopping in a corner convenience store was fatally shot maybe a year or so ago?

YES! It is off Eastern Avenue. This was a solid working class Polish neighborhood anchored by the majestic St Mary's on the top of the Eastern Ave hill. St Mary's looks like the finest churches in Europe with beautiful stone work that cannot be duplicated today. Many small businesses and working class pubs like the Cooper Keg of blessed memory.

All gone because of militant neglect by City Hall DEM morons. Church closed-rectory for sale-school closed-every small business closed. RAS furniture store rots like Robinson's. Working class replaced by welfare class. Another Hamilton Hill disaster. And nobody says nuthin. Anybody home?

Yes, it is one block away.  It's not a 100 block of Paulding though, that street I think goes up to like house number of 20.

The woman who was shot and killed was at a store on the corner of Eastern and Walnut, one block away.

DV, which is better.

1.  Having the tax dollars of the struggling homeowners be used to exempt millionires downtown from paying their own property taxes?
or
2.  Having the tax dollars of the struggling homeowners be used to pay for more police to patrol the neighborhoods

Can you answer that??????   Of course not, DV refuses to answer any question that disproves his claim that Schenectady is much improved

No suspects yet in home invasion
SCHENECTADY — Police still have no suspects in a home invasion that took place late Sunday night.
Three men dressed in black hooded sweatshirts entered an apartment at 14 Paulding St. by kicking in the door. Each had handguns and ordered the victim to the fl oor, according to department spokesman Officer Adriel Linyear.
A couple shots were fired in the house. The men fled on foot and it appears nothing was taken.
The victims were not being very cooperative with police.
People with information are asked to call Schenectady Police at 788-6566.
