I agree with marina...just because you don't get your "way" with whatever party you feel connects most with your belief, you should never go against it the way the NNT party did.

You're kidding me right?  The Rotterdam Republicans un-endorsed a sitting Councilman, and ran a primary against a sitting Assemblyman.  Then after the primary, they didn't even endorse the Republican they lost t to.  Talk about taking your ball and going home, just because you don't get your way.  The Rotterdam Republican Party runs like a dictatorship.  They have a proven track record of replacing or attempting to replace people that have been democratically elected in a general election by using inner party politics.

Many "conservative" and registered Republicans are looking for a political voice, and the Republican and Conservative Party are not delivering.  I perdict another similar line like the NNTP in future elections.

Way to turn the page and move on. Where were all of yous when John Mertz volunteered to go on a suicide mission against Assemblyman Paul Tonko? Hiding in the tall grasses.

Mertz is not perfect but stop pulling a Savage and blaming him for your problems. The door is open for a big victory next year. Stop burning bridges, rehashing old vendettas and start rebuilding. Some of yous don't know what side your bread is buttered on.

I think you already know the answer.......ms donovan is the rotterdam rep chair person and is clearly displaying a questionalbe faction of the party. Her implying that mertzie destroyed the party is not only misguided, but giving too much credit where credit is NOT due!

It is quite obvious that ms donovan and her rep faction don't have the ability to move forward. Her posts here are proof of that!

This is why mertzie needs to be the schenectady rep county chair!!! IMHO of course!

Ms Donovan presents a solid case for the demise of the Republican party in Schenectady County.  Not only are her statements absurd, but they also show the reasons for the mass exodus from the party since the current Chair was seated.

Perhaps she's considering a run for the Chair - which would be, IMHO, equally as destructive as the current Chair.

Everyone hates Buchanan - nobody else will step up to the plate to bring the party back to where it SHOULD be.

When will the insanity in the Schenectady GOP end?

Also ms donovan, was the nntp line created BEFORE or AFTER a denied endorsement?

Do you know anything about the election process in a democracy?

The schenectady county rep party will not become viable until there are new faces.
New faces that are unifiers and not dividers.
Unfortunately it is the dividers that are in charge!
Like said earlier.....it will be years before the schenectady county reps gain any credibility!!
Continue on this path, and it never will! IMHO

Let me please be clear ...maybe I need to repeat myself.
Just because someone does not get their "way" with an endorsement from their party, does not tually bel
justify the behavior demonstrated by Mertz and other assembly staffers. When people join a party and STAY with a party for ...let us say ...more than 10 years in longevity....they are BOUND to not always get "their" way. People who are truly out for the greater good of the party as a whole do not seek out to destroy it. Does this justify a primary?.....perhaps....perhaps... After the primary, it is over. NNT Party-Please
Democracy? Yes! Everyone has a right to start their own party. Foolish? Yes... in this scenerio? Yes! Evil to the very cause that they are supposedly serving? Yes...Self-serving? Absolutely!!!

Registered Republicans on the Assembly payroll went out and got signatures for this destructive deed and still no one can really answer for it.
They get a job with the Assembly and try to oust fellow republicans by giving the positions to liberal democrats? Go Figure!!!!

No I'm sorry to have to disagree with you but after the assembly primary the rotterdam republicans backed George all the way! The people who supported
Gerard DID not get people on the state payrolls to gather signatures to form a third party line and steal votes away from the republican candidate.
Once the primary was OVER it was over.

Ms Donovan, you are entitled to your opinion, but you are not entitled to re-write history! Which apparently you are trying to do without merit.

History just may repeat itself again if the schenectady county reps don't get their act together quickly! And the dems will sweep again! But perhaps this time you'll have a front row seat to hear, read and see the facts for yourself..........k?

And for the record, I'm not mertzie. Just a registered blank who's been around the schenectady county political block for a long time! And it's funny, that after all this time, faces change but the games don't! IMHO of course!!

Really?  I'm not a registered Republican, but I heard through the grapevine by pretty reliable sources that GP sent a letter to Rotterdam repubs stating he wasn't supporting George because of the manufactured Chazen story.  Maybe my sources are not reliable.  I certainly never heard GP publically endorse George(as if he needed it), maybe I missed that also.

And I heard that Parisi continued after he lost the primary to post negative statements about Amedore from his (GPs)
Facebook account.  Might this have been done to benefit Santabarbara?

Maybe GP knows he's so unpopular, that he knew his public support for George would actually hurt George in the general election.  Rotterdam Republicans are so brilliant, they used reverse psychology and were supporting George to energize the spite Gerard vote. Pure genius.

My understanding is the NNTP guys had signatures for the NNTP line before the Republican primary.  They were running on the NNTP line regardless if they won their primary.  You just keep re-writing history.

I'm not re-writing history. YOU TRY BEING A LOYAL REPUBLICAN COMMITTEEPERSON and stand by watching what happened and then and only then "come talk to me"
Yes, technically...they started their OWN party BEFORE the darn primary was over, however, they did that KNOWINGLY that they would have a very hard time primarying
incumbent republicans so they reached out to "republican" resources with people of whom had jobs that were appointed within the republican party to get signatures for a "LAME"
third party "PRETEND" to be a conservative for a moment party............hmmm.... PTBACFAMP.....(?) how is that ? PRETEND TO BE A CONSERVATIVE FOR A MOMENT PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!

and that's no joke. the message will echo on.
