Here's a simple one for tdonovan. What is the Rotterdam Republican position on creating a taxing district for a mis-managed Ambulance Service?
Don't hold your breath waiting for an answer. She is firmly on both sides of the issue. Which is exactly why the NNTP was formed. Until the local REPS return to core fiscal CONS principles they will continue to lose every race. When presented with two liberals the voters will pick the DEM every time. I just heard a rumor at the Bagel Shop that the NNTP will be back. Just like the Alliance Party will field a full City slate. These horrible machine DEMS need opposition not DEM lite. The two minute warning has been sounded. |

If the rotterdam reps took a stand years ago FOR THE TAXPAYERS, against this ridiculous, un-warranted taxing district for an irresponsible ambulance service, (like mertz did) then perhaps they wouldn't be where they are today....non-existent. They are pure and simple RINO's!!! People strongly question this Alliance party. Each one is not conservative by any stretch of the imagination! Hell, Mr. Hull is a union college, non profit, take houses off the tax-roll liberal in the eyes of most. Just because they are new faces and warm bodies doesn't mean they are the best candidate! It's early in the game but I would err on the side of caution with this bunch! |

I would concur. My understanding is that many of those with the Alliance Party line are politically to the left of the current ruling party in Schenectady. |

Benny--Sorry to keep u waiting all day but I work during the day and I do not have the flexibility to get on a blog when I am at work. Maybe you'll see my position on this issue in the paper. |

I'll go out on a limb and say it will go something like this: This issue must be left up to the Rotterdam Residents, blah,blah,blah...and his issue is too important to be politicized, blah,blah,blah...and we support that Residents decision, whatever the outcome, blah,blah,blah... |

With the exception of Salamone, politicians/candidates/party leaders will not state their positions on this tax because they plan to blame the outcome on the electorate...regardless of which way it goes and depending on who they're discussing it with at the time they have to invoke that blame. If it passes they will tell opponents it was the special interests...if it fails they will tell proponents it was Mohawk...what they will tell neither is that they could have and should have prevented it from ever getting this far by simply acknowledging that the tax, and therefore the vote, has never been necessary. Either way, they will never have to take responsibility. |

Smart move! Mertz made his position clear (for the taxpayers) and look what your party did to him! |

Prediction: After the REMS election. As far as the Alliance Party-not real fiscal CONS-but at least viable opponents to the horrible machine DEMS that ruined the City/County. A political vacuum must be filled. Ditto in Rotterdam/Nisky. Look for the NNTP again if the REPS continue to rehash old vendettas and run from Conservative core beliefs. |

Yeah, but Mertz's public position didn't originate out of the office of Parisi & Sacoccio. Big difference. |

Zorro--DR is long over what happened to me at ther hands of the Republicans. In fact, was the best thing that ever happened to DR in the end. BUT, what happened still points to the mismanagement of the Rep party under ST and that is why your party is out. Mertz was a huge jerk to have gone along with that scheme too unseat the senior director. Just plain stupid. Nobody won on that except Parisis who got part of the little salary the director was making. Who suffered the the SENIORS and they still do. You do no have a viable program for seniors and those who are coming up. Nobody goes to the center anymore and nobody is working to meet the needs of the seniors because everybody else has fish to fry elsewhere.
Here's where you guys are screw-ups--are you listening donovan, you Reps keep having the SAME experience year after year. ..not many different experiences you just keep repeating the same experience. Unless you sit down and decide where it all works and how to eliminate what doesn't you can make up all the new parties you want. Won't matter because you new party has the same old retread. |
