This is funny -- from an old episode of Maude -- the episode in which Florida (Esther Rolle) becomes
to housekeeper for Maude and her family.

Florida describes the difference between conservatives and liberals :

"conservatives just plain hate you because you are you ... and liberals don't like you being you so they
want to change you"

any thoughts ????

Yeah, its all as simple as a mindless, idiotic sitcom written by 25 year old scriptwriters in Hollyweird who think they are the cleverest humans on earth.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Norman Lear was 50 years old when he created and began writing the show "Maude" -- not a mindless 25 year old as you suggest.   It was very funny and provocative for its time.

Provocation leads to dissidents.......fine with me

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

And if you think he wrote all the scripts for each show and didn't employ a bunch of low paid script writers than you are obviously out of touch with reality, or you need your cokebottle glasses for more than driving, because YOU DIDN'T READ MY POST...

Besides the loaded language by using "hate" to describe conservatives and "don't like" to descibe liberals, it's accurate.

Conservitive may not like you, but they allow you to be who you are, and would rather choose not to socialize with you than attempt to fix you.  Liberals on the other hand, when they don't like you, they need to force you to conform to their utopian world view using the power of government, with re-education, legislation, political correctness presure groups, and old fashion litigation.

If you ask me who's more dangerous, it's the person that wants to change me.  That's why we have a Constitution and a Bill of Rights.  So looney liberals like Maude is describing don't impose their will on the people using the powers of government.  That's where we are as a nation now.  That's why the Tea Party.  Change at all cost, even if it violates your individual rights(Obamacare) isn't very popular.

I think BOTH sides try to force people to conform to their perception of an "ideal reality" -- that is why I
prefer to stand in the middle ground --- and accept all kinds of people for what they are
