What I'm not understanding is the purpose of posting it in a forum in Rotterdam NY.  What are the chances that Mr Killeen will see, respond or even hear about this request? I'd suggest posting this in a letter to his campaign office - or directly to him.  I just don't see the point of posting it here. It's your "freedom of speech", but ... just sayin.

Since I do not know Mr Killeen or how to contact him,  I used this forum in the hopes that it would reach him.

Also, the family is objecting to ANYONE using Judge Severson's name in political advertising.

The obituary that was posted was for Robert Severson -- the Judge George Severson's  younger brother --
Robert Severson taught for many years at Mohonasen and since the obituary was only run in the Troy
Record -- I posted it here thinking that some of his former students might want to know of his passing.

Once he was elected to the bench, he stayed out of partisan politics.   He never endorsed anyone for political
office .. after he became a judge.   It is not too much to ask that his name NOT be used any ads by either

This was not an endorsement. Rick Killeen was stating his vast experience in Surrogate's Court for his race for Surrogate Court Judge. There is nothing that could be mistaken for any endorsements. This is a distraction.

     Here's what's really going on. Rick Killeen is fighting for this Surrogate Court Judgeship. His signs are all over the County, he is at every festa/farmer's market, he has huge support in the City and has a army of volunteers going door to door. Rick Killeen is not the usual REP place holder. People are waking up that 3 DEM hacks are picking every judge in a smoke filled room. They will meet again a pick a new City Court Judge. Finally a REP candidate, with only one line, is fighting back. It scares the DEM machine that he is electable in a REP tsunami.

You would have to be senile and delusional to think he said he was ENDORSED by that deceased judge. he stated a matter of record in REVERENCE to the previous judges. I can see DV going to the family wake and stirring up the pot to make this some stupid political issue. This is all a red herring. No endorsements were ever made. Rick Killeen is properly listing his vast qualifications for the Surrogate Judge position. The problem is that he is campaigning. The DEMS have a real race on there hands and they are shocked that a REP opponent is actually fighting.

Just letting the public know that the late Judge hasn't endorsed anybody and his family wishes that his name
be kept out of the campaign.

I have nothing against Mr. Killeen .. just sending him the message from the family.
