COLONIE -- A cook at a local restaurant faces charges of public lewdness and child endangerment after he allegedly masturbated in front of a 15-year-old girl, police said.

Police said the received an initial report that the man masturbated in front of the girl on Oct. 10 when he drove by her in the area of Sand Creek Road and Berkshire Drive.

The girl could only describe the car as a small, black vehicle, but on Monday she spotted the car again and got the license plate number, police said.

With the new information, police said they stopped the vehicle in Schenectady and arrested the driver, Solomon M. Winternitz, 31, of Division Street, Schenectady.

Winternitz, who police said works as a cook at the Macaroni Grill on Wolf Road, was arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Albany County Jail. His bail is set at ...
