If you WORK for the City, you better LIVE in the City!!

Our tax dollars pay people who:

1. Don't live in Schenectady
2. Get rewarded with a free vehicle for living elsewhere (plus free gas)
3. Have a free cell phone to stay in contact with the City, their families and friends
4. Do not have a vested interest in the welfare of our City

Pathetic Mayor SOS made it clear from Day One he was interested in padding his paycheck and in not enforcing the City residence laws. Then he increased spending 40%. You want to save money-FIRE any brass not living in the City. Latham's Solo Assessor Mastro can be the first out the door. Where does the golf pro reside? Zero out nonprofits-send a bill 0f $300,000 for Proctor's and Union College police and fire services. Presto-NO fire fighter layoffs.

Great job by Pat Z in listing the ridiculous phone list. List you doesn't get a free City phone maybe it would be shorter.

JUST THE FACTS

Our taxes are high because   Hugh Farley and his GOP cronies in the State Senate have done NOTHING
about unfunded state mandates.     50% of our county budget is spent paying for these mandates.

Farley makes many times more money than most taxpayers from his public salary and public pension -- yet he sends the bill for his Hawaii and Disneyworld vacations to US .. the taxpayers.    Farley was
sitting on over $300,000 in campaign funds from fatcat bankers and financial firms --- yet he couldn't
afford to pay for that August campaign mailer telling us that the state needs to cut spending .. but he
sends the $80,000 bill for that mailer to US .. the taxpayers.     He "talks "about cutting spending but he spent  $3.6 million of taxpayer dollars  on "personal services " in the last 4 years as our state senator.  He "talks" about cutting taxes --- but he has voted over 500 times to raise our taxes in the 34 years he has been in the state senate.

Oh -- he says he believes in term limits and that 12 years is enough time for a state legislator
EXCEPT that he need more time to do his work   AFTER  34 YEARS on the job

and he says that Albany is dysfunctional and said  ..quote .. that he "was a part of the
problem" .... but he promises to do better if sent back.

FIRE HUGH FARLEY in 2010   .. FIRE BOB Farley in 2011

I read very well  thank you ... I was reading at a High School level by grade 3.

As far as my glasses, I wear them only for distance when driving.   My sense of self worth is strong
enough that I don't think wearing glasses is a bad thing
and, unlike you pr**ks,  I would never make fun of someone for wearing glasses.   I may have to wear glasses .. but unfortunately medical science has not come up with anything to cure your problems.

Who cares about your glasses I was referring to the fact that your idols, the Dems, controlled NYS legislature and have for quite some time so explain to me how Farley passed all those mandates single handed. Even Golub supports Farley instead of Savage.

You lie worse than Savage - Everyone saw you at the podium reading your little diatribe during the last town hall meeting. It's on film.

Get your facts straight -- the GOP controlled the State Senate for about 40 years up until the 2008 elections ..
then you had the stalemate in the Senate when those two guys from NYC  went back and forth from Dem to
GOP back to Dem.

The FACT is ... Hugh Farley was for most of the time between 1977 and 2008 the THIRD highest ranking
member of the State Senate  majority.

Technically, he had more service than the dude from Long Island that succeeded Joe Bruno --- so
apparently   Huey's own GOP colleagues didn't think enough of him to elect him Majority Leader.

And now the folks of the 44th will fire Huey on November 2.

Who controls NYS legislature DV, could it be the Dems.   Party control

The New York State Legislature as of July 8, 2009, has Democratic majorities in both houses. To begin the 2009 session (elected November 200, Democrats had a 32-30 seat majority in the State Senate and, in the Assembly, Democrats have a 109-41 seat supermajority. However, the Republicans were able to regain control of the Senate during a leadership coup, in which two Democratic Senators voted with the GOP to install a Republican majority leader. The Democratic Senators regained control of Senate leadership on July 8, 2009.Until 2009, the State Senate had been in Republican hands for decades. Among the top reasons for this include the more conservative upstate region holding more clout in the State Senate, as well as Long Island, where voters are increasingly trending toward the Democrats on the state and local levels continue to re-elect their incumbent state senators (some of whom have served for many years, such as 30+ year veteran, and most of whom have raised considerable amounts of money to deter challengers).

In recent years, Republicans in the State Senate have lost ground, particularly in Westchester County and New York City, though they still hold a few senate seats representing parts of Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island (which leans Republican at most levels of government). Economic troubles and population loss in upstate New York are also a factor, as Democratic-leaning areas of that region have become more important in recent elections. In the past, Democrats would occasionally switch parties when they ran for Senate so they could sit with the majority.

The Assembly has been dominated by Democrats for about 30 years, and Republicans have recently lost ground in this chamber as well. Between 2002 and 2005, the Republican conference dropped from 53 seats to 45. Republicans even lost some districts that historically have been reliably Republican, especially on Long Island. One crucial reason for the Democrats' dominance is that they control 64 of the 65 districts that are assigned to New York City (an extension of the party's dominance at most other levels in the city).

You proved my point --- BEFORE the 2008 State Senate races .. the GP controlled the State Senate .. AFTER
the 2008 races .. the Dems had a SLIM majority  ...  in May-June 2009 -- 2 Dems Espada and another
became GOP  ... and caused the embarrassing spectacle of State Senate INACTION ........  by the way ....
HUGH FARLEY VOTED FOR PEDRO ESPADA   FOR MAJORITY LEADER --- thus HUGH FARLEY WAS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STATE SENATE  COUP.
The article that you cite was after the 2 went back to being Dems  .....

2002 to 2005 .. the GOP dropped from 53 to 45 seats in the STATE SENATE  ... you  need only 32 seats to
control the STATE SENATE .... so the GOP was still in control

this article that you posted just backs up my point ... the GOP controlled the STATE SENATE for 32 of the 34
years that   Hugh "useless" Farley was our State Senator.

The Assembly has been dominated by Democrats for about 30 years, that's what it says in the last paragraph. It takes both houses to pass a mandate and it can't be done by just the Reps when the Dems controlled the house for 30 years. Do you really comprehend what you read or just type what your ideology is?

You are the one with the READING COMPREHENSION problem ....  I said that until 2 years the
State Senate was controlled by the GOP for over 40 years -- you implied that I was wrong and posted
an article from 2009 ...... which as I correctly pointed out PROVED MY STATEMENT WAS CORRECT.

So take your nasty negative attitude someplace else.

You keep trying to tell the world that Farley passed all these mandates which is why Schenectady's taxes are so high and that's an bunch of BS when the Dems have controlled the assembly for 30 years and you have to have both houses to pass a mandate. Not being nasty you just won't admit when your party does anything wrong like raise taxes, that's what they do get over it.

Farley ADMITTED during the debate up in Saratoga that .. and this is his quote  "I haven't done much about
unfunded state mandates."     THAT IS FROM HIS OWN MOUTH

and it is a FACT that 50% of the county budget goes to pay for these unfunded state mandates .....

so  my source that he has done nothing is HIS OWN WORDS    --- and the only thing "nasty" about my
words is that the FACTS are nasty to  GOPers and Regressives who want to lie and make up their own
version of the truth
