Libel is a terrible lawsuit to have to defend Ron, especially on a public message board. Be careful where you tread

Then you should be careful what you post.    I have only stated the truth.

Here is one quote -- that I have always followed regarding any ideas or work that I have done:

"There is no limit to what people can do if they don't worry about who will get the credit."

I am not worried about getting the credit for any of my ideas.  My only goal is to help my town ..
the community that I love ...  if the naysayers don't like me personally or their jealousy  prompts
them to hurl nasty, hate-filled comments my way --- I am thick skinned and their behavior only
serves to make them look smaller.

WHAT ADVISORY COUNCIL??????  WHO IS ON THIS ADVISORY COUNCIL?

It is just an idea .. a proposal that I am making.    No one is on it YET  ... it would be made up of
volunteers --- retired and active small business owners or persons with expertise in an aspect of
business  that come forward to VOLUNTEER their time.
While I have no "list of names",  I know that their are persons of ALL political parties and variations
within those parties that  live in Rotterdam and would be good persons for this.
Despite the totally false allegations that it would be partisan,  the first 3 names that come to my mind
are Republicans and one of them ran for Town Board in the past.

This is completely different concept from Metroplex and IDA - it is VOLUNTEERS .. NO TAX PAYER $$$ ..  retired and current business owners or persons with experience in some apsect of small to mid size
business coming together to VOLUNTARILY assist either existing or potential new business owners
start, develop, and grow their business in Rotterdam.
In the Colonie model -- these VOLUNTEERS help lead potential new business owners through the
sometimes daunting task of developing a business plan and getting started up.
Hamburg Street Merchants is a good starting point -- but my proposal would be town-wide in scope
and would not get involved in such issues as streetscapes, business district planning and promotion.
The Hamburg Street Merchants are good for what benefits that they offer -- Metroplex and IDA are
good for what benefits that they offer --   This proposed Rotterdam Business Advisory Council would
be offering a completely separate but complimentary service to existing and potential new business
owners.

[/quote]

seems they all fear Hamburg Street.....or just waiting for the biggest gang to take it over.....

My wheat penny on this subject

Any major worldwide or nation organization has 10 times the info an  advisory group could bring to the table

An for small business what would they advise - to open another pizza place

I can just see them approving competition

We need jobs that pay not more retail

Our old economic dev specialist was 10x more useful than a body of "rotterdam power brokers"- with ways to cut energy costs and grant info related green energy

DVOR, you will fit in perfectly with the ruling class of sophisticated political leaders, here, in Albany and in Washington! WHY? Because you are plain, flat-out, ignorant, blind, and deaf- TO THE FACT that government through its legislative process, and its paneling of experts, and its constant intervention in the free market ACTUALLY HURTS BUSINESS AND THE ECONOMY. You add insult to injury by giving groups like this even the slightest credence and power. You want to get involved with every inner working of every business and every business relationship at all levels such that you CRIPPLE the private sector and weigh it down with tons of chains! I am so sick of imbeciles who have never successfully even run a lemonade stand UP ON THEIR GODDAMN SOAPBOX TELLING BUSINESSMEN (LIKE MYSELF WITH 22 YEARS OF BUSSINESS OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE) THAT WE ARE AGAINST SMALL BUSINESS! You are a clown with no experience, no accomplishment, no real job and apparent trust fund all because you started as a lucky sperm. I am so sick of your rightiousness and bullshit I could scream. Really WHAT THE f*** DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BEING A SUCCESSFUL SMALL BUSINESS MAN IN THE WORST BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT IN AMERICA THAT YOU AND YOUR PANEL OF INSIDERS COULD POSSIBLY BEGIN TO TEACH ME AND THE OTHER HARD WORKING BUSINESSMEN IN THIS COMMUNITY.

TAKE BOBBY, AND SKIP, AND JOHN, AND EVAN AND ALL YOUR INSIDE DONORS AND GO f*** YOUR SELVES WITH YOUR BUSINESS ADVISORY COUNCIL, AND PUT TONKO AND MURPHY AND PELOSI AND REID ON YOUR COLLECTIVE LAPS WHEN YOU DO IT. JUST STAY OFF MY BACK AND LET ME MAKE MY OWN LIVING! SHOVE THE "RECORD" UP YOURS TOO!

How DARE you accuse anyone of being against business and capitalism when it is YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU and your buddies who want to constantly f*** small business and regulate them, paperwork them, investigate them, audit them, harass them, legislate them and TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX THEM TO SUBMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IDIOT! I AM SO SICK OF PONTIFICATING IDIOTS WITH ALL THE ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why the F # * K should I? These government "EXPERTS" make me sick. One more advisory group to make back room deals. One more round table to stack with cronies. One more place to put the up and comers so they can throw that on the resume for when they run as a democrap tax-and-spender. Find me one good businessman who ran a place for 10 years and kept the lights on, and didn't have Daddy to get him started. Give me one smart gal or guy who made payroll when times were tough for 20 years. Give me one person who doesn't have an axe to grind, or a grant to get, or a PILOT on the fire with the IDA, or a county contract that might come down the pike soon (yeah, right!) Tough to find, aren't they?

So when DVOR starts acting like he has this great idea to save Rotterdam by having the cronies serve on a board, then I cry foul, and I don't give a damn if someone's Goddamn sensibilities get ruffled.

Since the suggestion only was made yesterday -- and no one has actually been asked .. let alone "named" --
I repeat that all of the opposition allegations are pure unadulterated lies.

You obviously have something AGAINST small business owners -- if you get so upset about an idea to
invite retired and current small business owners to VOLUNTARILY come forward and VOLUNTARILY work
together to assist other current small business owners and potential new small business owners.

You obviously don't want our town to grow and prosper as you reject out of hand sensible idea to for
fellow residents - regardless of political affiliation - to WORK TOGETHER to help other fellow residents.

You obviously are the overly partisan ones when you viciously attack small business owners and
individuals that you believe support the party that I happen to be registered in.   Business owners and
individuals that i have NOT even discussed this proposal with .. let alone  "named" to it.

And, finally, your jealous hysterical irrational attacks just prove to me the value of my proposal.   It is
because YOU folks didn't come up with the idea that you are fit to be tied that I am proposing it.   I relish
the opportunity to turn this proposal into reality -- and then watch you folks "eat crow" when it succeeds.

Actually, I AM a small businessman. But I HATE the fact that so many insider deals occur where certain favored small business people (who have learned to kiss  as s so so well) are privy to insider deals and favors at the expense of the taxpayer and the rest of us. As I mentioned the names above I shall refrain from repeating.

I have NEVER bashed a local small business.  I have stated there is one that my family and I will not
patronize but that was NOT based on political reasons but because of the rudeness of one of its
proprietors.

did you not say that you wish this county had a DECENT candy store.  you specifically said county and town. and its pretty obivious what you are implying.

a comment like that is an insult to whatever candy store currently operate in the county!!!  so YES you did bash a local small business.

Its like when Savage sent her secretary to Massachusetts to buy chocolates (at twice the price! haha) for the legislators a few years ago, or like when the local democraps order signs to be trucked in from out of state. That is how these commies operate. They don't support local business unless they get a kickback from them, and they can' put politics aside. Their loss. In the meantime people come from 100 miles to get certain delicacies they can't find anywhere but in Schenectady at businesses owned by REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRAT OWNERS!

Schenectady County needs a decent candy store - in my not-so-humble opinion.   I did not mention any
existing businesses by name or "bash" any existing business.  Just stated my desire for one that would
sell those cool peppermint pigs.

First -- not joking about the suggestion for a "Small Business Advisory Council" -- I see no reason why we
can not reach out to representatives from the various business (example but not limited to Hamburg St
Merchants) and civic organizations (examples but not limited to - Elks, Rotary) in the town .. and also invite
current and retired small business owners or persons with some expertise in an aspect of business --- to
come together  and  #1) map out a strategy for encouraging the growth of and attracting new small businesses
to town , #2) explore ways for these various groups and individuals to work together proactively to accomplish
the previously mentioned goal, and #3) set up some kind of  Small Business Workshop or monthly Small
Business seminar   ---  all done with volunteers  .. all done in a non-partisan way .. all done with the primary
goal to grow small business in Rotterdam.

Second -- progress on putting together a dog park proposal is moving right along.   Look for a public input
session sometime in late January or early February 2011.
