Yep - that describes the previous (or maybe still current) Rotterdam Business Association, with one exception - it isn't run by any political entity, partisan or not.

In other words, a democrap group of party supporters who can be consistently suckered in to believe the fairy tale that your gang wants to cut their taxes. I bet you have a core nucleus- just look on the donors list for "Revitalize Rotterdam."

Actually, this is an idea that I had 5 years ago and only shared it with my running mates back then ..
and haven't discussed it with anyone since.    There is NO "core nucleus" .. no one has been approached
or asked to be a part of it.   And -- bottomline -- if I were to get involved in trying to set this up -- I
would NOT ask or care what party the VOLUNTEER members belonged to.   Just like the Parks and
Recreation Commission ... my policy would be .. check your partisan hats at the door or do NOT enter.

Wouldn't hurt to get reps from each of these organizations to come together and "streamline" things.
All of those organizations do great things  .. so I have no quarrel with any of them.  Just posting an
idea .. thats all.

No .. I never said that.   The proposal was very simple -- help existing and potential new business
owners  by having a monthly breakfast (or similar venue) to help the start up or grow their business
in Rotterdam.   The other groups would still exist .. that each do a lot more than what I am proposing.

You folks really need to take a pill and stop reading conspiracies or nefarious motives into everything.

No, I need a pill to stop laughing at these silly ideas - poop park, YABA (yet another business association) - what are you gonna come up with next?

Of course the "regressives" are opposed to any idea that they didn't think of.  That is their problem.

I will contact each of the groups mentioned earlier to see if they are interested in this proposal.  I'd
rather devote my energy to working WITH others on positive, constructive ideas than to argue with
a bunch of "deadenders".

Thanks - I'll probably hear all the laughter from here.

Hoping to hear some positive input about helping attract and keep small to medium sized local businesses
in Rotterdam.    If you can only be negative -- take your comments elsewhere.

I'll speak my mind wherever I please - tyvm.  You're a big man, but it'll take someone with more cajones to shut me up.

Freedom of speech, remember?

Who needs an advisory council?  It's pretty simple.  Businesses open to make a profit.  They open in towns, counties, and states where they believe profits would be the highest and cost of doing business is the lowest.  Ease up on taxes and regulation and businesses will open.  It really is that simple.  No need wasting time with advisory council.  Vote for legislators that believe in a fair competitive marketplace, not Metroplex selective give-a-ways.

Will the business owners you have in mind all show up on backhoes?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
