Woman allegedly slaps cop during fire at home
Published: 12:00 a.m., Monday, October 18, 2010

SCHENECTADY -- A woman was arrested after she slapped an officer who tried to restrain her from entering her burning home, authorities said.

Police said Maria Ann Weaver attempted to go inside the two-family home at 2174 Lenox Road after a fire broke out in a first-floor kitchen about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Weaver was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, second-degree harassment and obstruction. She posted $500 bail and will be arraigned Monday morning, police said.

No one was home at the time of the blaze, but two adult dogs and two puppies died, said Schenectady Deputy Fire Chief Mark Fragomeni......................>>>>.......................>>>>..................http://www.timesunion.com/ytschenectady/

"A full platoon of 22 Schenectady City firefighters, as well as chiefs, extinguished the fire" on 2174 Lennox Rd. And this stunad Mayor and his pathetic rubber stamps are trying to layoff 19 firefighters and close the Bellevue Firehouse. What is the matter with these people?

End all handouts to nonprofits-freeze all capital construction-end the City free car dealership-eliminate the job killing DSIC-eliminate the Public Safety Commissioner. These painless 5 cuts would keep ALL police and fire and give oppressed taxpayers a 20% property tax cut. Naah, they prefer "working together"....

Part of the City's "rebirth". This home is the first property next to Steinmetz Park and it's kiddie playground. The home will never be repaired and sit as yet another empty hulk on Northside. Northside was the jewel of the City, solid Italiano, zero crime, great restaurants-now all gone. In free fall like every neighborhood under Mayor SOS and his horrible ALL DEM rubber stamps.

No I'm blaming this horrible Mayor and City Council for destroying every City neighborhood. With high taxes, with poor services, with broken streets, with a higher garbage tax, with a new curb tax, with nonprofit handouts, with working together rhetoric. An idiotic Downtown Only policy that has completely destroyed the City. But don't the facades within a block of Proctor's look peachy?

Now the chickens have come home to roost. Any Mayor that would seriously consider cutting police and fire, including closing the Bellevue Firehouse, should be thrown out of office.

These leaders must not watch the news. Someone needs to remind them that we are in the GREAT DEPRESSION!!!! This is NOT the time to be adding taxes and fees on the already over taxed taxpayers!! Businesses and your average everyday 'joe' are running lean!! The government needs to make the tough decision, such as NOT spending $14M on erie blvd, cutting spending and doing away with the 'fluff' jobs and the 'fluff' programs!!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!
